Heron/Eagle at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
Okeeheelee Golf Course boasts 27 scenic holes of championship golf. The holes are divided into three nine-hole courses that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Named after the wildlife that inhabit the course, the Osprey, Heron, and Eagle share the same beautiful landscape but each one offers a different set of challenges. Okeeheelee means 'quite waters, ' a name that comes from the tranquil views that stretch to Clear Lake. The Heron/Eagle golf course will test your target golf skills. The course features elevated greens surrounded by bunkers and fairways lined with tall trees and deep rough. It is a challenging but fair test that is still player-friendly enough for a range of skill levels. With three different course options there is plenty of variety, but the Okeeheelee golf courses are accessible as well with five sets of tees each

Nice golf course
Tees, fairways are in very good condition. The greens are good. It’s time for some aeration they were very hard. Enjoyed playing the course.
Great course
Always fun at Okeeheelee. Usually I am single and never had a problem with who I was paired with even though I'm a beginner. Officially my "home" course.
Challenging, but fun
Lots of well placed hazards and elevation changes to give the course a good degree of difficulty. With that, sadly, comes a slower pace of play for newer golfers. I am a beginner myself and had a challenging 18 but spent most of the time waiting for the groups ahead of me to play. Maybe out of season I will give it another try, still had a blast tho
Rudest staff in S Florida
This was by far, the worst experience I’ve had since moving to Florida years ago. Upon arrival, found that our tee time booked through Golf Now had mysteriously been “cancelled”. The attendant could offer no explanation and only said “we are going to try and get you out”. Got our our cart and waited 20min and was walking towards the starter when the door popped open and he asked if I was the group that was waiting. I said yes and he responded by reprimanding me for not being parked in the right spot. He sent us out and when we got to the tee box, the were TWO foursomes waiting to tee off. After waiting another 40 min, we finally started our round that lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes on the front nine. We played 10 and then threw in the towel. I went back into the clubhouse to share my displeasure with how everything was handled and I got an apathetic “sorry”. No offer for anything and clearly they weren’t concerned that they screwed up our day. Plenty of other courses to play in the area that are equally as good and with a staff that values their customers. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one.
A$&?!hole hit me with his wedge on purpose
Slow play in front. People complained that we hit down on them. We apologized. The people behind us were taunting us non stop. By the way I was even par after 7 and having a good time with my son. The twosome behind us kept taunting and hitting their ball at us. Then they almost hit a persons wife in our foursome on hole 8. About to play nine these two larger guys came up to the wife and husband and we’re belligerent. I said where are we going. The instigated mire and the bigger guy about 6-4 put his club in my chest. I asked him yo take it back and leave us. He then hit me in the chest with his club and we were on after that.
After successfully defending myself we quit told the starter what happened and left. I have never been able to finish 18 there yet.
They offered us a free round but my 15 year old son and I declined and left my ph number. I guess I should stick with private courses. The staff were nice but the level of clientele there is very sub par.
I gave this guy 5 chances yo leave us slone and the female in our group filmed the whole thing. My son never wants to play there again with me. 2 bad experience in a row. The second one was the fight.
Fabulous Course!
It's the best public golf course I have played in South FL in the past year!
Nice public course
This course has 27 holes and you'll be assigned to 2 of the courses depending on availability. All 3 are decent, present a reasonable challenge. There's a lot of water on this course, and many blind shots. Prepare to lose balls. Overall, it is better than most public courses and worth playing. The amenities are also above average. Beware, there are aggressive birds on this course and they will take up residence on your golf cart and search it for any food. Take precautions.
Slow slow slow!
They overload this course! On some holes 2 groups waiting on the tee! Tee times only 8 minutes apart but with walkers mixed in with riders it is EXTREMELY slow! Started round at 12.30 and had to give up on the 14th hole as it was getting dark and we were unable to complete round. We complained and we were offered a $8 rain check!!
Total waste of a day and very frustrating!
Everything good!!
Pace of play/ conditions of course/ staff friendly- no complaints
