Ballantrae Golf Club

I've played Ballantrae a few times and as always, overall conditioning was great. The only negative was that greens were very bumpy compared to past rounds. I'm not sure if it was just luck of the draw or what, but there were numerous ball marks on every green, and most putts were bouncing quite a bit on way to the hole, which is not ideal.
Still, it's a nice course and I'll be back.

Everything was great, we finished the round in 3 hours. Staff was very accommodating and the course was very well maintained. The only complaint I have is that there were too many unrepaired ballmarks in the green but those marks were not too close to the cup so it was tolerable.

The course conditions are very good. Pace of play is excellent. However the conditions on the green are only fair. There are a lot of ball marks on green and I had to repair in average 3-4 of them at every single hole as I felt sorry about the green conditions. I think the course should pay me by doing so!

On green and around green is a bit challenging but manageable. Course layout is well designed and will reward you if you take risks.

Constantly checking for Golfnow deals for this course. Would play here all the time if I could. Actually managed 18 afterwork a couple times, mid-summer. The layout is great for big hitters off most tees. Every hole is unique. Greens won't t hold every approach, so be careful!

Carrick always plays with your mind. You think the fairway is a mile wide-and then you find yourself on the wrong side of the fairway having to navigate bunkers, water or both to get to the green. FUN!!!! The only negative was the greesn seemed a little splotchy and chewed up-as if they weren't cleaning them up a couple of times a week. Overall, a great day on the course.

Started off as a great day on the golf course with fantastic weather. Course was in great shape and was quite nice. Unfortunately the day was ruined by a very rude Marshall. He had an issue with my cart which was 30 ft from the green having two tires off the path on a hole that was cart path only. I have no problem with a Marshall informing me that i shouldn't go off the path. However i do not appreciate being yelled at while I am trying to putt or have the Marshall insult my intelligence by stating that all Par 3's in Ontario are cart path only. Will defiantly make me think long and hard about playing here again.

The course is in great condition. It's a great challenge.
We will defently be back this year.

Great location - 15-20 mins from home or 45 minutes to anywhere in Toronto.

The course was in excellent condition. You need to manage your way around this course. It's not very long but the fescue is punishing, you need to keep it on the fairways to score. Nice challenge.

And more over well managed green made us happy.
Marshal was very kind enough also.

Was absolutely phenomenal. Course in amazing shape. Finished round in 3 hours.

Quite cool this day so few players and quick pace. I was impressed with young lady at pro shop. She was friendly, informative and helpful. The course was in excellent shape and well layed out. I will definitely play here again.

Clean; fun; good pace. perfect for fall golf. what more can you ask for!

Bunkers are very deep and greens are fairly speedy and well guarded with bunkers and sloppy edges.
I would like to challenge again sometime.

I returned to this coirse after one year. I still like this course as before. Although the fairway is a little bit drier and the green is harder than before, it is still a nice course to enjoy your round. Very friendly staffs there as well.

This course is great value. Always in excellent shape. Visually sets up well from the tee and can be enjoyed from all tee decks. Yesterday's pin placements were either the result of an over zealous kid in PGA Championship tournament mode or perhaps he was just angry about the night before.

Ballantrae is a nice course with generally wide fairways and very good condition. It is well design and the routing is good.

Staff is courteous. All and all a nice place to enjoy a round of golf.

I'm a west-ender and rarely traver East of the Humber river for golf - but now there's a compelling reason to do that. This course was not even on my radar until i saw it listed as a Hot Deal and had a rating of 4.2 from reviewers. In my opinion, that rating is low. Each hole is a treat. There's nothing spectacular, just a very sound design with strategic bunkering and elevated greens with plenty of slope and some very cool collection areas around the greens. Landing areas are fair, and the course won't punish you if you play from the poper tee blocks.

Course is very well maintained. Playing at the blue tee adds some challenges for certain holes are pretty narrow. fairways around the green are very nice but some ball marks are found on certain greens. Enjoy the scenic views of the course in mid-afternoon play. definitely good value if you can find a $50 green fee time.
