Quantity over Quality
Probably one of the most underwatered course I have ever played. Even fairway shots feel like your hitting off of cement. I would rather play a course with a decently kept 18 holes than a course like this that has 3 poorly kept 9s. Definitely a missable course.
You get what you pay for
Over the years, I've played this course many times. In the years prior to the ownership change, the Roost was never a Top 10 in the area, but it was decently maintained. After 3 years of decline to near bottom on the acceptable scale, this year shows marginal conditioning improvement. The greens are reasonable and the fairways are at least mowed to an acceptable height with far less weed content. However, the lack of irrigation gave us fairways that almost played like asphalt, with safe-looking drives taking crazy deviant bounces into the knee high fescue that lines practically every fairway. I usually never lose a ball here - this time I lost 5. Yes, we haven't had much rain, but isn't that exactly why golf courses have irrigation systems? I'll likely play here again, but I'll try to time it following a good rain.
Why I return I don’t know
Nothing changes at this place. The pace of play will have you taking 6 hours to finish 18. Holes. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
WOW - Horrible Experiance
I had a tee-off time for 9:50 and they ran out of golf carts. We finally got two golf carts and teed off at 11:30. The tee boxes where in really bad shape. If you go, you will need a hammer to knock your tee into the ground. The fairways are starving for water as well as the greens. This course has been let go with zero up-keep. Looks like they are waiting to tear it down to build houses at some point.
No golf carts
They made us wait an hour and 40 minutes to get a golf cart on Father’s Day.
Meh!
Had mechanic in on a Saturday replacing batteries on the busiest day of the week
Showed up early to hit the driving range. And staff didn’t rake balls from night before so couldn’t use the driving range
Staff didn’t wanna give us 1 cart showing up 45 mins early cause they were down 20 carts on the busiest day of the week
Course was in decent condition. Greens weren’t dried from rain previous day.
No beverage cart on the course
Overall not worth the $80 for the round. Probably won’t go back
only issue is we did plan to walk 18 holes, There was a cart issue. Luckily we did get a cart for the last 9 holes which this is a course that isn't designed to be walk. average yards of 300 on white and red tees. Thankfully the blue course wasn't as long ....
A good day for golfing
Played on a Friday around noon, no driving carts were available so I had to walk, but I was OK with that since I brought my own pull cart anyway. Played the blue and white courses, they were both in pretty good condition, fairways and greens were well-maintained, but if you hit a ball off into the rough tall grass you’d lose it for sure. This is definitely not a high-end premium golf course, but certainly more than adequate for a nice afternoon of golfing, especially when you haven’t played for a few Covid years.
Horrible experience
The course is an awful condition. No marshall in sight, waiting minimum 5 mins per shot while the group ahead hits two balls each. Save your money, this place is a joke and poorly managed.
Slightly Below Average
Course needs maintenance. Greens are ok but fairways and rough needs work.
Great day for golf, but rough was really rough!
The weather turned out great, if a bit windy. We teamed up with two other players as the play was quite slow to start. We played the 2nd nine o our own, so in the end, it took about the usual 4 hours. There are far too many dandelions on the course, so it took a long time to find everyone's balls in the short or long rough. Also the long rough needs to be mowed down more, or a lot of time is wasted.
Poorly run
Since when do you allow 5 soms on the course. Saw 2 groups of 5. Asked Marshall to investigate and although he asked them to let people play thru that’s not the answer. Starter was at the clubhouse not at the tee. Wasn’t joining groups based on the bookings. Not enough power carts, etc, etc. Clearly the owner is selling the place and is not interested in the value and experience the golfer has from playing there, just the pocket book. Even if they hired a few experienced pro shop staff things could be improved. It’s a real shame because the course has so much potential but as mentioned they have no interest in putting money into the place.
