staff are excellent. course was in ok condition. it is only blantantly obvious that the owners are putting no $ into the course and looking to sell it off for development. not worth the $
Terrible tees and fairways
Not busy at all. Played 18 in less than 4 hours. Played Blue and Red 9s ... staffer told us to avoid White because “they don’t keep care of fairways” ... however, fairways were mostly brown on both we played. Greens were soft, true and in excellent condition despite being slow. Most traps were maintained, but didn’t see a rake in the 2 I was in.
Not a bad layout and a crazy target shot on the Par 3 ninth on the Blue side.
I would recommend to some friends, but not to others who are picky about fairway and tee-box conditions. But a extremely fast round and carts should be $15 each and not $20.
But I’ll be back.
Course condition
Horrendous; dry, not taken care, carts dirty...absolutely disgusting. NEVER again...best to stay home rather than playing a round at Banty's
A Course to play, for sure.
I gave the Course a "GOOD" rating, in all but one.
I gave the "Course Layout", a 2 star, a "FAIR". I did this because the signage on the 3 18's are very fair. We found Golfers driving around, looking for their next 'T' box.
Every thing else was very good, including the Staff.
I will play this course again, very soon. I will also recommend it to my friends and relatives.
This course is dying a slow death
With three 9 hole courses and a driving range located just northwest of the GTA, you’d think this course would be set for success. Unfortunately it’s obvious that no money is being spent on maintenance. From the entrance off the main road, to the clubhouse to the driving range, to the cart paths, to the tee boxes, to the fairways, to the sand traps, everything is decrepit. The tee boxes are bare dirt and weeds. The fairways are burnt and full or weeds. The bunkers are mostly mud. And signage around the course is very scant. With an usual layout, finding the first hole proved difficult. At least the greens were watered and cut. Even at $60 for 18 holes and walking, it’s not a good value. I played the Blue and Red courses. Both were fairly interesting and challenging. If only they looked after the place, it has the potential to be a really nice facility. Alas in its current condition, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
This course has potential.
This course has the potential to be a good one, would need to have better quality grounds. The tee box's are right hard, bent a few plastic tees trying to set them in the ground. The fairways, mediocre, if you don't have carry don't worry they are hard enough you will get a lot of yardage on the roll. The roughs are easy to hit out of. The greens are hit or miss some are good have ball response others not so. Golfed the course with a friend who did years back and said the course was a lot nicer back then. Mind you it is early July and not too much rain this year but still feels rightfully dry and hard. Overall $80 for 18 and a power cart.
Playing
We played fast very good pace problem of the course was kept up.it could be a nice course greens don't hold tee boxes very hard to put tees in tee off
Greens were excellent. Fairways needed a lot of help. Very dry.
Saw 2 dead birds
Course not very well maintained. Grass needs some water. Also saw not one but two dead birds on the course. I guess you get what you pay for.
Awful
Hands down the worst maintained golf course I've been to in Ontario. They should just sell the course to a buyer who will do proper maintenance on it. Charging $60 for a round there is absolutely absurd. I wish more golfers would be honest when rating this course.
Getting better
Seems like bantys is under new ownership and they are trying to get it back to what it once was. The lack of rain hasn’t helped the fairways much but the greens were in excellent shape, the best in years. Rough was cut and fairways short. They grew some fescue in spots making it play tough. Overall it looks positive for old bantys, just need a little rain to help it out.
Quantity over Quality
Probably one of the most underwatered course I have ever played. Even fairway shots feel like your hitting off of cement. I would rather play a course with a decently kept 18 holes than a course like this that has 3 poorly kept 9s. Definitely a missable course.
