Slow play
The course is very mature and looks nice until you hit off the fairways and find the ground is very hard. The rough was very long for an already challenging course so it helped slow the pace when people spent a lot of time looking for their ball just off the fairways two groups ahead of us had 6 people playing in one group ! Need I say more ?
Awesome course
The GM & Wife that run the golf course were extremely accommodating.
We had an issue with transportation so could not make our 11:30 tee time, they changed it to 1:00 for us.
We arrived at the course at 12:05 in case we could go out immediately, but unfortunately not until 1:00
Which means we got stuck behind 5 groups of foursomes playing best ball, 90% new to golf.
The GM did come out and check because of slow play and offered to move the group in front along, busy all moved at same rate of play.
We will make tee time again for sure. Hopefully not run into the same issue
Nice to play a course where the trees soar up to 100 ft or more in some places making approach shots intimidating and thought worthy red tees for ladies over 5300 yds good challenge for worthy golfers the par 3's are tough to hit bring your A short game for sure enjoy your round
Tried to cancel because but they took our money
We tried to cancel our t off time because they made us play with other people . We wanted to have a private round so we chose not to play here but they wouldn’t let us cancel . So we still got charged 120$
Poorly Managed
The course is in good shape. It has good layout that should fairly challenge any golfer. The problem seems to be the course management. Upon arrival there where several RV's set up in the parking lot. A large group ( 20 - 30 age males) were obviously staying there partying for the weekend. Not sure how this is allowed on any course. Our group of 12 golfers had the misfortune of falling in behind these people. The group of campers formed into a group of playing seven and another group of five plus a few other foursomes. As the day progressed they became drunk, playing loud music, doing donuts in the carts and generally being disrespectful of the course and everyone else. Our final pace of play was 5:35 hours on a course that should be played in 4 hours. We became aware that this group where given carts in the morning and told to play as much as they wanted. Management was contacted and notified of the issues yet did nothing to resolve the problem.
There are numerous golf courses in the area that are all in equal or better condition. My suggestion is to play anywhere else but Bonaire to avoid the potential playing conditions we experienced promoted by a management who obviously doesn't care.
