Loved it......even better the 2nd time
Played it twice 2 weeks back to back...shot my lowest score ever from White trees......love the course attendees the patrons and the layout......nothing but good things to says
Enjoyable round
This course is in excellent shape now. A couple of greens played slower than the others but overall they were fast and challenging. Pace was good despite the course being fairly busy that day. Challenging enough but fair.
Perfect!
Got a late Tee time on Canada day. Started at 5:30 and finished at 8:30. Few people on the course and we were walking. No waiting. Beautiful weather 30c,very little wind. Course in decent shape. Fairways cut, greens firm but a little slow. Tee boxes ok. Rough is tough to get out of, if you find your ball. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Straight and true
Long and straight was needed today in the wind, but the fairways and greens are in good shape. Fun course to stretch out the long clubs.
Highly Recommend
I am in love with this course and the staff. I always have an amazing time while here. I am always served by a smiling face and the staff genuinely take interest in their customers. As for the course , it is always well maintained, and they change the pin placement often. I will continue to come back to this course and I highly recommend to every golfer out there.
Poor Value, Poor customer service
I would stay away from this course. It is overpriced compared to other courses in the area. I have played it a number of times in the past but won't play it any more as they seem to have some high staff turnover. I found the starter a real piece of work. He sees himself as needing to read the riot act or something to each group. It sets a very unpleasant tone. They seem to want to jam the groups up off the first tee.. They encourage you to hit your tee shot before the group in front clears the fairway. I don't think they have many knowledgeable staff here. They have a sign up about the pace of play, which is a joke. By mid day Sunday the course doesn't seem to have many golfers.
Great Father's Day
Tee boxers and greens are in excellent shape. All bunkers a have nice soft sand. The was my second round and enjoyed it as much as the first.
Bang for your buck!
This was a genuine bang for your buck! Having played for years, I can say that this course had private club calibre greens. The course was kind of flat, and the pace of play was average, but the overall layout was great. The staff was some of the friendliest and most comedic I have ever experienced. I would definitley recommend this to a friend.
Bang for your buck!
This was a real bang for my buck! Having golfed for years I was surprised at how well the course was kept for the price I payed. The greens were the same level as most private clubs. Pace of play was ok. This definitley had some of the friendliest and most comedic staff I have experienced in years. Would definitley recommend this to a friend.
8 minute tee off gaps
Just got home from my 5 hour and 20 minute round. Was supposed to tee off at 11:50 and ended up starting at 12:10.
I suggest you stop having tee times every 8 minutes, trying to make extra money, and do it every 10 like every other course in the area.
As your sign says "Help is stop slow play". I suggest you look in the mirror and fix it yourself.
I won't be playing here again after this.
Good Course in Great Condition
Played a great round in the early season. Greens and fairways were in great shape for the time of year. Lots of people on the course as they had a good deal on (so a tad slow at times) but that is to be expected. Great for relative beginners/intermediates as it is quite open and forgiving. Would recommend.
Great day for (soggy) golf
I've played Hornby before and find it to be good value and a fair test of golf. There are all kinds of holes. We usually walk if the course if flat and Hornby is just that. With all the rain, there were some very wet areas. High tee shots were plugging into the fairways and rough. I lost some balls because of this and found some embedded into the fairway that other golfers had not been able to find. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways. Once this dries up, it will be a great place to play. I would recommend.
Hidden Gem
Very forgiving course. Well kept and very friendly and helpful staff.
Would go back and recommend the course to others.
Nice course in good shape
Despite heavy rain the past few days the course drained well and was in good condition as long as you stayed out of low spots. Greens were very good and quicker than I thought they would be. Not too busy this time of year so pace was great. A nice course I thought would be lost to development but so far so good.
