Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course - Deerhurst Highlands
About
Two stunning courses are the centerpiece at this full-facility luxury resort, which was one of Muskoka's earliest resorts, open in 1896. The Deerhurst Highlands championship course is from architects Robert Cupp and Thomas McBroom. Carved from the rugged hills and dense forest, it presents the golfer with challenges of all types.

Condition of course
Enjoyed playing course for first time, I was expecting course to be in better shape than it was, Seems they may have had trouble with greens over winter a lot of bare patches..
I was told
That it was a fantastic course & this made me anxious to play for the first time, unfortunately did not live up to hype a good course but expected more.
Great day on the course
Had a great time. Course is on excellent shape and the scenery is stunning. Loved it
Great layout, but really bad green condition
Everything is good, but green is just so bad. Almost every green has large percentage of rough grass patches. You are garrantted to put through the rough grass. Speed will be unpredictable. I won't go again until they fix the green issue.
Great course except for the greens
First time play the course . Great layout and the right balance of challenging holes that allow for playability. Unfortunately the the greens were in very rough shape. That said i believe the price has been adjusted.
I would play it again.
Lovely layout & views
It was my first time playing this scenic course. I brought a foursome and we all loved it. The first elevated tee features a stunning view of the lake and trees in a distance. Greens were in great shape - not too fast and not too slow for me. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, right from the pro shop to the cart area and beverage providers. I definitely plan to return in future.
Please fix thew greens.
Awesome course and staff, only downside was the greens are in terrible shape. big patches of dirt and replanted brown grass.. Not sure what happened to them.but hope they can save them :(
Sad Shape
Deerhurst Highlands is tired and I'm unsure why the owners appear unwilling to give it any serious investment. I've played the Highlands since 1995, but haven't played it since 2013. It has actually declined since then, which I thought would be difficult. You now hit into a landfill on the driving range. The cart paths are falling apart. The greens are a mess. This used to be a Muskoka gem and someone has allowed to become an old mule. Too bad.

Poor greens, slow play
Group ahead of us had two completely open holes ahead of them and 5 groups on the two holes behind them. Greens in very poor condition, lots of unputtable areas with apparent continual aeration. No mention of this ahead of time.
SAVE YOUR MONEY - GOLF SOMEWHERE ELSE
The 'highlands' is supposed to be Deerhursts' showcase golf course. Personally it is a step up from Lakelands but not much more. Greens are brutal. I have played all other courses in the area and was keeping an eye on a hot deal for the Highlands so as to give it a go and was deeply disappointed. All other courses in area are way better than this course !!!! ALL BECAUSE IT IS A RESORT - they should be ashamed to charge over $100 CAD per round.
Love this layout, conditions are not good. Greens are in very rough shape.
Course still needs two weeks to be ready
Deerhurst Highlands Golf
Great job adapting to COVID. Friendly staff. Greens a bit bumpy which made putting challenging.
Very pretty course
stunning course but greens and fairways not very well kept. Pretty patchy !
