Course with Dog Legs
It is an easy course but lot holes with dog legs. Greens were fast enough and course is in excellent condition. It would be a nice little trip to Jackson Point and Franklin beach as well. Other course amenities were kind ok.
A Relaxing Round
There's a laundry list of things I love about The Briars, among them is the laid back feel, allowing me to escape the regular rat-race hustle and bustle of life. With less than 400 playing members, getting a tee time is never a concern, and you can play along at your own pace (regardless of whether that's fast or slow).
With all the recent rain we've received the course was in spectacular shape, nicely manicured and vibrant green. Although I hacked my way around as per usual, it was a lot of fun to see my playing partner finish the round at -2 under.
The course is lined with huge mature trees that often overhang the fairways, making for some creative approach shots.
I look forward to my next round at The Briars.
Beautiful Laid Back Course
Fantastic course. I've played here countless times, and don't think I'll ever get tired of playing here. It's a private course with less than 500 members, which makes for a dream pace of play. Although the course isn't overly long (6,285 yards from the tips), it's a great course to walk at your own pace.
The back is my personal favorite, once you cross over the bridge, it's like entering another world, beautiful river views, big mature trees. Course is typically well maintained and in great shape.
I look forward to playing here again.
Wonderful Private and Resort Course
We played as guests of members for 3 days. We walked each day. Most members seem to walk. The course conditions were very good. The greens were smooth, firm and fast. The food at the club house was very good. Service at the pro shop and club was very friendly. It was a good trip to Jackson's Point and The Briar's Club.
Hidden gem
Most don't know about this course due to its location but when the new highway opens this month, it will be much closer to many in the GTA.
Not a long course but tight with tree lined fairways, generous bunkering and a couple of water hazards. Great conditioning puts a premium on shot making.
Best value private club in Ontario.
