Great variety in course layout
Love how they don't load up people going out off the tee until you get on the first green. Lots of Fly's (nats) in the morning. Great Sausages from the BarBQ.
Great practice facilities, super friendly staff, the course and the greens are in great shape. There is lots of wild life on the course. And the beer was cold and not outrageously expensive.
Loch March Sunny , Warm and Windy
W O W !
I was impressed upon arrival from the ample size of the Bent Grass Practice Green and Reception by Staff outside the Clubhouse before entering the
Pro Shop for our 11:33 round..... The cleanliness of the establishment was very professional in all aspects . Courteous Players assistants , starters and the welcoming committee named Elene !
The course was well manicured and the
Bent Grass Greens rolling at close to 11 made this a challenge to learn control your putting speed; with almost secluded fairways it made for a scenic peaceful day on the links! Enjoyed the facilities' large patio setting for an after game refreshing cocktail and after I had viewed the banquet lounges I was Impressed with what Daniel Nadon and her staff has accomplished.... thank you Loch March team for making this a reason to return !
Prestine Golf course
course in excellent condition ..especially greens, fairways. Greens are championship caliber with 2 an 3 tiers. ..speed fast 10? on stim meter.. less than 4 hour round and did not hurry.
This course is excellent when no rain for a few days
I'd give Lock March 5 stars when dry, but unfortunately, it rained the previous day, so "cart path" only. The course appears to be built in a low marshy area with very slow drainage. The fairways were saturated and for the most part we played from spongy, casual watery conditions with water oozing around your shoes.
I consider the rate to be fair when the course is dry, but too high when conditions are wet.
I suggest checking conditions with the pro shop before playing. I'll play it again, but only after several days of dry weather.
Wish there was more tee times available on hot deals
Spent and incredible day golfing with my girlfriend. The course and conditions were in exceptional shape and we couldn’t have enjoyed the experience more.
Cheers,
Matthew Sawyer
Underrated gem
Eagle Creek and the Marshes May get more ink but, for my money, Loch March is at least comparable and a better value. Wonderful course layout, slick greens and absolutely zero monotony. Every hole offers a different challenge. The staff are informative and friendly, the lounge, patio and pro shop are all well placed and comfortable. It isn’t an inexpensive place, but still reasonable and worth every penny.
Great course
This is a great course to play. I’ve done three rounds on this course in one week and it is both challenging and rewarding. The ground is still a bit wet and muddy in some places, which is a given this time of year.
My only recommendation is for the possibilty of cart service during the morning. A fresh cup of coffee when on the 4th hole would be lovely.
Nice course with friendly staff
Course in excellent condition, well maintained fairways and true green. Nice scenery with some challenge holes. Super friendly staffs and good restaurant. Definitely will be back for more rounds.
Excellent course with some challenging holes
We played Loch March for the first time and really enjoyed the course and staff. From the check in to post game drink, all the staff were really friendly. The course has some challenging holes over water and reminds me of courses in the UK.
Loch march is not the quality course it used to be.
Course quality has really gone down this year . Loch March used to be one of the best in Ottawa.
Bunkers were brutal . Lacking sand and lots of rocks. Bunkers that had sand had not been maintained in a while.
Lots of trees and branches down that should be cleaned up.
Lots of old ball marks on the greens . Greens were very slow .
Course has such a nice layout . Too bad management does not maintain the course properly.
Weather was great , course layout is excellent .
Course needs work to get back up to the level Loch March used to have .
Overall our group was disappointed .
Fine Course
Played on a beautiful fall mid week day. Course in exceptional condition . Only annoyance was greenskeepers operating power leaf blowers on several holes . Not prepared to stop to allow us to play shots.
Fine practice range. Great layout for intermediate to high skilled players.
Hot Deal price makes it a high end golf bargain.
par 3
there are a couple nice par 3 over water especially hole 7 is 166 yards to green
A great day at Loch March!
From the very friendly starter through to the end of our game, it was a perfect day. The course is in very good condition. It is one of my favorites in the area.
It is easy to score well on this course, as long as you know your clubs well!!
