Immaculate Conditions

From the tee box to the fairways, greens and bunkers, this course was in immaculate condition. Lots of grounds crew out working the course. There is water and elevation changes. The layout keeps it interesting.

Poor Customer Service

Purchased an UnderPar coupon for the course before the Covid pandemic arrived. The coupon had to be used before May 31st in order to get a tee time before 2pm, which we had every intention of doing. Unfortunately, due to Covid , self distancing guidelines and late course openings, we were unable to get a tee time before May 31st. Once the restrictions were lifted, we tried to book a tee time for 11am on June 12th and were told that because of the restrictions on the coupon, we couldn't get a time until after 2pm. Considering many other businesses are bending over backwards to get their customers back, I would have guessed that FireRock would make some small exceptions . Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was simply asking for a tee time , midweek, 3 hours earlier than the coupon stated and they wouldn't budge. It's a nice course but apparently customer service is not a priority for them.

Mid Season form Mid Season Prices

I have played here a few times, it's a great course. the greens were good for the early season and the starters are amazing as always.
The pro shop staff was surly and indifferent as always, but the interaction was brief.
Played from the blue tees and shot -2 it is a good challenge for all players, the group I was paired with wanted to play from that tee box so I did object. This is one course that really punishes you if you play a harder tee box than capable.
The pace was slow, but it's a Saturday, the beer was pricy but cold.

Great layout but not in great shape!

Played on a Tuesday after a holiday weekend and maybe that is why the grass wasn't cut. Rough was so long you could lose a ball within a couple yards of a green on several holes. Some greens were in rough shape too. Either players here never repair ball marks or they don't heal well. Really nice layout with lots of elevation changes. GPS on cart was much appreciated but it had trouble picking up the group in front on some of the blind holes. Pub food was good. Pace of play was excellent. Were able to tee off about 15 minutes before our scheduled time and even though we waited on many holes on back nine we still played in 3 hours 40 minutes.

Best public course in London area

Firerock is the best public course in the London area. A challenging layout with a great variety of holes. The start of the round is a nice tee shot over a creek to a generous landing area to set up the first par 5.
The staff at Firerock are quick to fix issues on the course like flooding on the 8th hole which was fixed quickly.
The 18th hole is a pure brute and possibly the most difficult hole in the area.
My first choice for golf in the London area.
The new Pub is also a great place for a beer or dinner with a very nice new patio.

Great Course

Great course, pro shop staff (Tyson) and back shop staff (Matt and Cole) were extremely friendly and always helped when I had questions. The carts have touch screen GPS which is really convenient and have a great program loaded on them. The course has a few waste bunkers which I very much dislike, there is gravel in them so I always removed my ball from the bunkers to not mess up my sand wedge or irons by hitting on the concrete type sand. Other than those bunkers the course is amazing and i would recommend it. The course is a parks land / links style course and is challenging and very well maintained, fairways and greens were in great condition and the rough is very thick.

Great Course - Slow play

Going to start by mentioning the down side of the trip to Firerock. Website says "home of the 4.25 hour round". We got there on a overcast day with light drizzle and parking lot was half full... round took us just over 5 hours. Pace was very slow for such a light day. Sun did come out about four holes in.

That aside, course is very nicely laid out and some really interesting holes. The course is not a true links course but has that feel. Lots of well placed large bunkers, some waste bunkers. Greens were running pretty fast and decent size with a few soft spots.

Hitting the fairway from the tee in most cases requires a well placed shot and hitting 3 wood instead of driver sometimes the better way to go. Couple of holes with blind shots which I don't care for and good elevation changes on some holes.

Really enjoyed the day and look forward to getting back. Cost was $75 with cart and cars are mandatory.
