Breben on a Hot Day
This is a very nice 9 hole academy course to play at. The holes are of varying lengths so you can use many of your irons even a 4 iron for the longest hole. On a hot day it is more changing for seniors as the up and down hilly terrain can take it's toll. Make sure you bring plenty of cold water.
Good little practice facility
Good practice facility next to the championship course. The hilly terrain makes for good practice if you miss the short greens. You won’t need to use more than 3-4 clubs for navigating the course. Can be played in under 90 mins, unless there is a slow group in front of you (which is one of the problems, given lack of marshals.)
Fun par 3, issue with foot golf
Overall really great par 3, if you want to get work in with your irons good place to start. Only issue we had was with the foot golf. The kids playing had absolutely no manners and almost hit us a few times with the balls they were using. They were running around screaming and blocking parts of the golf course. I’d suggest either have someone going around on a cart making sure they are following the rules or have it at separate times from the tee times. If I book another tee time and find out footgolf is happening at the same time I’d likely cancel next time.
Good practice course
This was our first time playing this course and it was overall a good experience. The conditions were fair, some muddy sections between holes. Only negative experience while playing was the next tee time started earlier and was rushing us throughout the course which was frustrating. Other than that I would recommend this course and play here again.
Nice course and great staff
My son and I played this course today and we really enjoyed it. We met two great guys at the T we enjoyed the course and the staff was really helpful and friendly. I would recommend it if you have not been there.
Good to practice short game
It took me an hour and 15 minutes to play the 9 short holes. Hilly terrain is the main obstacle to par. Good conditions but a confusing layout with multiple tee boxes so close together I got confused a couple of times. Can be crowded.
Quick 9 Holes
Wanted to play 9 holes but wanted a quick 9 holes vs the front 9 on the main course. Anyone unaware this is a course for their camps so a lot of new kids use the course during the day, it's also a Foot Golf course so people who don't golf or don't quite know the rules will be on there sharing the course. The course is also used by people learning golf so slow players or ones that need to take several shots.
With all of that said you only get a small bottle neck at the first two holes then it opens up, the FootGolf players seem to play ahead of the golfers. The course isn't too hard as long as you hit good shots. The greens are massive and pretty challenging depending where you put from. At times I found it easier to just hit short or long of the pin and chip towards the hole leaving me with an easier put.
The only downfalls I will say is that the tee boxes are pretty chewed up from iron being used mainly on the tee box so finding a good footing can be tricky. The course is also very hilly so anyone not quite comfortable walking a lot or with mobility issues it could be an issues since no carts are available.
At the end of the day it's a $25 round of 9 hole golf that you can finish in 1.5 hours depending who you're playing with and who's playing in front of you. I'd play it again if I want a quick round of golf.
great course for short time player
if you don't have 4.5 hours to play a 18 holes, brebean academy is a great place to keep your skills up.
Decent course, poor amenities
We played the nine hole, and the bar cart never came out away. You cannot rent a cart on 9 hole, so we were forced to walk in the heat. None of this was mentioned in advance.
