"Grand" for a Reason
This course doesn't appear on the "Top ###" list for no reason, this is hands down the most immaculate course in Niagara.
Pros:
> The Staff
> The Tee Boxes (all are level and lush)
> The Fairways (as green as a Crayola crayon)
> The Greens (healthy, in great condition, minimal ball marks, true, fast and CHALLENGING)
Cons:
> Some bunkers are in need of some TLC
> New yardage book. I liked the old yardage book that had 1 hole / page, not this current version which has a higher focus on advertising than customer assistance.
> Stopped for a burger after finishing our 1st round and before starting our 2nd round of the day. Price a bit steep for a burger ($11). I pay premium green fees if the course is quality conditions, and the same goes for food. I just don't think the burger and fries were worth $11. The staff are phenomenal though. She even gave me tips on the Olympic Rugby match on tv.
Just nine
Course is down to playing back nine holes, course was in good shape, greens were very fast and true. Very few leaves to contend with during fall weather as that is always a concern playing this time a year. Was able to drive cart on fairways even with all the rain previous day which was nice. Just damp in a few spots.
Course is only 9 holes but it’s in excellent condition and a great layout.
BUYER BEWARE
The course has lost its lease. Therefore its only 9 holes. Construction make it a nightmare to get to. The clubhouse is a glorified trailer. This course was supposed to be the pinnacle of Niagara. Unfortunately it’s never reached that or ever will for that matter.
Course was in excellent shape, the greens were extremely fast. We all enjoyed our round.
Great but Sad
It was a great day to be had at Grand Niagara. Great weather, awesome playing partners but it was still sad knowing the front 9 will close for good in October and the back 9 a year later.
Hard to play with sad thoughts.
This course will truly be missed.
Need better marshalling
We (2) teed off with nobody ahead or behind. Quickly caught up to a 3-some, who were waiting for a 4 who were very slow. So from 5 on we were waiting and always had the 4 behind us up our butts too. For the cost they need to manage this better. Pace-4:45!!! Yikes
Course is beautiful
Good Morning Ernest1975,
Thank you for your recent post. We do forward all comments to Management and look to improve where we can. Fair warning when it comes to Rugby. Should a BIG game be televised- our 'Tabi' could be a little engaged! (LOL). We hope to see you back in 2016.
