Great course, except the bunkers
I have played the course for years, but I booked it through TeeOff for my first times this year. The course is always generally in great shape. Some greens have damage, but I saw that at a lot of courses in my area this year. They seem to be addressing it.
The big issue is that the bunkers are in really bad shape. A lot of courses let their bunkers go during the thick of Covid, and it seems they just haven't got back on track to fix them. It's not a case of just adding sand, the bunkers are full of rocks and lining is showing through on a few. We take several bunkers out of play because it's not worth hitting a rock with a club. They bunkers need a renovation at this point.
Beyond that, the conditions are generally good, the staff is good, the pace of play is generally good, and the layout is great.
Great Golf Course!! Very Challenging!!
This Golf course is a diamond in the rough. It’s extremely challenging and is going to make me come back next season to try it again. I’ve drove pass this course many times and said “one day I’m going to play it” well I booked it and play it. All I can say is you better understand angles and greens that are extremely slanted. The starter Minton is an awesome fella and needs to be complemented for his friendliness. The price to play 18 isn’t far from the other courses and because it’s challenging it’s worth every penny!!!
10th is my fav
It was alright.
It’s an OK course and layout once you get past the first 3 holes. Conditions were firm as usual there. Fun to play once a year to remind yourself why you only play it once/year.
Nice Course Great Pace
To find a Hot Deal on GolfNow including a cart is a bonus now. A great price to play a nice course was a treat. Well named; we played in a 30 km wind. Conditions were great. Greens were true. Traps were filled.. Fairways were immaculate. Haven’t played here in years, but the course was in the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Recommend it to everyone if you’re looking for a four hour round. Pace of play was great. No holdups. We were joined with a couple of super guys. They played blue tees. Us whites. If you’re not a long hitter, be sensible. We’ll be back some time in the future. These days we have to be cost conscious. Maybe other courses will take note and include carts in their Hot Deals.
Nice outing at Wildwinds
The course is well kept and the condition (fairways and greens) is very nice. The greens are putting very true. The pace of play was good on a Tuesday. Elevation changes made the course quite interesting. However, some bunkers can use more sand in them though. All and all, a very enjoyable round of golf at the Wildwinds Golf Links.
