bunkers need work
I don't mind s hard fairway bunker but around the greens it would be nice to have some sand to hit under the ball. I don't car if you rototill the dirt as long as there is a way to play a green side bunker shot with out blading the ball. It is called a sand trap for a reason you might as well pave the bunkers at least that way I could chip out like Phil the thrill.
Mr
ery enjoyable experience the golf course is in great shape i recommend it worth the the drive and very attractive green fees
Keep it straight
This course has some very challenging holes. There are quite a few holes that if you don't keep your tee shot in the middle of the fairway you will be in a little bit of trouble. Very nice to see a course that is not flat in any way. Overall, I love this course. One last tip, watch out for the wind.
Very challenging and kept in very nice condition
Would highly recommend for all levels of golfers. Neat as a pin with some very nice layouts. Greens are very fast and true.
Excellent Course - must play
This is an excellent golf course with a challenging layout - holes 9 & 18 are spectacular. Course is in great condition from tee to green - only complaints are the traps were wet from a recent rain fall and the rough wasn't very long. Greens are fast with lots of movement and fescue was high - so keep it close to the pin and straight !!
Wow
Although a cool September day, we teed off in the morning and I can't say enough about Hunters Point. Was paired up with a couple members and they were very nice people. The course was in great shape and the service exceptional. Very fast round and stayed for some pizza afterwards. Got on through their customer appreciation promo and cant say enough about the value. Will be back soon.
Great value
The condition of the course was excellent and the layout challenging. Previous day's heavy rain made the green slower otherwise it would add to the degree of difficulty. Great value for money and excellent clubhouse. Only drawback was the pace of play. It was really busy for a Sunday afternoon and unfortunately no marshalls to be found to control traffic.
Fairness
Everything about the day of golf was excellent. The only thing i was a little disappointed with was that i had to put a deposit on my credit card because i booked the round. When we arrived at the course to pay for our rounds of golf they only charged the balance remaining. Not a huge amount, but i was charged for that and didn't recoup the amount. So really it ended up costing me an additional $12.00.
Best Value in Niagara
Bang for your buck is what Hunter's Point is all about. The overall conditioning of the golf course paired with its unique links layout makes this track a must-stop for Niagara golfers.
Wrong time to play
Played at a slow time of day (1:00) pace of play was slow. Have played same course later in the day in under 3.5 hours. Still was a good value for the money, course conditions were very good and greens are challenging.
Awesome layout
Absolutely beautiful course, offering an above average challenge to most golfers. Great fun.
Paid $40 (golf and ride) to play at a course of this caliber........ incredible!
Fantastic value for amazing conditions and challenging holes
I was really surprised at the quality of this course. When I drove up to the bag drop, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member backing up a cart preparing to take my bag, before I even got out of my vehicle. Once out on the course, I was very impressed with the beautifully manicured fairways and greens. I was less impressed with my score after being punished by this links course (balls that miss the fairway are usually in trouble in the thick rough), but I will definitely be back for another round.
Course in good shape
Played with my wife as she has a ladies tournament in a couple of weeks, course is in very good condition, greens are quite fast and tricky as usual. Staff are very accommodating and we stayed for supper at the clubhouse, beautiful view of the course, it was a good day!
Love Hunter's Pointe
Always a treat to visit Hunter's Pointe. Make it a point to drive the 45 minutes from home at least twice a season to play here. Excellent value for an above average golf course. Fairways in great shape and the greens were fast, fast, fast, so a stop at one of the putting greens is recommended prior to your round. Didn't play well on this particular day but had a great time. Exceptional views and the odd freighter might sail by as you're getting ready to tee off.
Great day, great course.
Links Love
Very good links layout. Wind is needed to make it a real links experience. Fescue was there but not to the point of slowing up play. More water then you would see at a true links course but a very good layout with challenging par 3's and risk reward par 5's
Nice way to spend a day
NOT the club's fault, the amount of rain the club received filled traps, ponded on the fairways and filled the creeks and ponds... it was a wet round... Nice to play on an overcast day as there are no trees on this course. Carts were path only ...
Well worth the drive !
Fabulous course in excellent condition at an unbelievable price.
We worth the hour drive for a great round !
Good, but!!!
Because it is different from my home course (which is parkland) it is a fun course to play,. Iti can turn into a beast if the wind is strong. We were lucky as it was no more than a strong breeze. The only disappointment was no ships went by in the Welland Canal while we were on the course.
A Satisfying Experience
Had a great afternoon on a great course. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the fact that as responsible adults we were not hounded by the repeated appearance of marshals. Course was in great condition, and very playable. Thanks Golf Now for this great and relatively inexpensive experience. Only problem we found was that the traps were sorely lacking in sand.
