The course is in great shape.......courteous staff.......very enjoyable. The back 9,however, is hopefully, still a work in progress. Still needs help

I have played the front 9 before, but this was my first time on the new back 9. Oh wow, did they make an awful back 9! I can't express this enough. That is the worst 9 holes I've seen in my life. I will bet my house that their pro can't hit par on that back 9! If you want to lose a bunch of golf balls and have no landing areas, then this back 9 is for you. It also looks completely messy and unfinished, like they rushed to get it open. No thanks. I"m never paying to play boulder canyon again.

I shot the best golf game in my short time of playing golf, Fantastic day.

Three golfers behind us got a little bit in a hurry. One golf ball came within 5 feet from where I was standing. I was not a happy Golfer. Other then that It was a great day and we had a lot of fun.

Played a quick front 9 as visitors to area. First time on course. 8:30 am tee off.
Relaxing, ez pace. Course in good shape.
By time we finished around 10 am, course was getting crowded.
Definitely will come back and play 18.

Perfect day for a round of Golf. Yes the ground was wet from the rain during the night. But the weather was great.

The front nine is the original course, and it is in good shape. #7 requires a long enough drive to see the green; otherwise, the second shot is blind due to the fairway taking a 90 degree turn. The back nine is challenging. At this point, the greens are hard and grainy and landing areas require some accuracy. #17 requires a carry of about 220 to reach the fairway from the blue tees, further for the black. You have to be precise to the landing areas. Cart paths at this point are mostly gravel on the back nine, and a bit rough.

Great conditions and weather. Staff is great! Will play many more times.

We have played the original 9 holes many times - a mature course in decent condition. Maintenance seems to always be an issue with the original 9.

We played the back nine for the first time and were extremely disappointed. Poor layout as if the course designer/architect had no experience in course layout. Fairways were rough to the point of bouncing the kidneys and liver inside you. New nine has few course markings to show where the next Tee Box - ugh. Nothing but rocks for cart paths. On one hole, the drive must be hit through 3 high-line wires and 3 utility support wires in the middle of the fairway. Extremely disappointed in the new nine and will never play it again.

Very pleased with the experience. Will definitely use again.Definitely recommend to friends.

Excellent staff. Perfect day and a group even let me play through. Lots of nice holes and great views. Wish they would open the back nine.

The pace was good, since not too many golfers out at 8 am. There was a very slow group in front of my two-sum but they were very kind and let us play thru.

Course in pretty good shape, they finally got workers signed on and doing the mowing.... All the greens are very good shape which is surprising after a winter.

Plan to play it a few times this season

Out by myself Course empty except for grounds crew able to take my time and enjoy the morning.

I wanted to make a positive comment to the coarse and staff. Had a great time, everything was great. Will golf it whenever I get a chance.

Very well kept course. Excited to see the additional 9 holes next spring.

I am struggling to find anything good about the recent round at Boulder Canyon. It was a Horrible round at best for the following reasons:
1 - we played behind a 5-some that wouldn't let our 2-some play through - we waited on every hole - UGH.
2 - mowers everywhere that interfered with your play - we were forced to wait for not only the 5-some, but for the mowers - until we finished at 11:00 am.
3 - no tee markers placed until we reached the final hole. All tee markers were laid off into the rough - i assume waiting for the tee boxes to be mowed for the day.
4 - players ahead of us drove their 2 club carts up to every green and trap regardless of the request on each cart to remain 30 feet away.
5 - as I am playing one hole, a golfer from another hole saw my ball in the rough and drove his cart to my ball, picked up and disappeared - ouch...
6 - check-in lady was very short tempered and unfriendly.
7 - cart paths look as though they didn't survive the bombing - rough and holes in the asphalt everywhere. Much smoother to drive your golf cart next to the path than on the path.

Bottom line, this place is in a state of turmoil - I suspect money is low and can't afford to keep the place in play conditions. Very sad.

Boulder Canyon is a very well kept 9 hole course in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Greens are challenging, fairways in great shape and the views are spectacular.
Looking forward to the opening of an additional 9 holes in the summer of 2018.

Nice location, nice course... good that they r adding 9 more holes. We will back in the future!
