Eagle Hill Golf & Athletic Club

The course was in great shape and the greens were moderately paced. The course has a nice layout and was fun to play. Would definately play here again. Great course for the price.

This is one of those courses that puts you at a disadvantage the first time you play it, or if you haven’t played it in a while. There are a number of blind tee shots, and even a few fairway hazards that are not apparent as you set up for your shot. If you love to challenge your abilities,this is a good course for you.

Playing in late March, the conditions were as would be expected for a public course in this area. It did seem like a number of the tee boxes were very uneven and some were in rough shape. Overall, the greens were in good condition for the time of year, other than the signature Par 3 (whose green is in the shape of the state of Arkansas). Some type of weed had infested that one.

One closing comment - the golf carts are in need of maintenance. The first one we were issued had trouble starting and when it did, it seemed to run much slower than other carts. We traded that one in for one whose parking brake did not work, so we had to get creative wherever and whenever we parked it.

By the way, my high rating for value is the result of getting a bargain fee through GolfNow..

Particularly the par 3’s had lots of ball marks that players neglected to fix. The fairways are in need of attention. Perhaps it the beginning of the season and they may just be too damp to cut. We did recently have a bunch of rain.

This is a challenging course that I usually enjoy playing. However on this trip, you could see that the groundskeeping needed some work. Many of the tee boxes are in rough shape, the sand traps tend to be rocky, and a couple of the greens have damage. (It looks like there was an oil leak while while someone was mowing them.)

On the plus side, the gentleman in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful and since we got a deal on GolfNow for only $20, it was still a great value.

Never had to wait to tee off. Course was quite empty. Best kept bunkers in all of Little Rock. Fairways were smooth. Rough was decently long, easy to lose a ball, but was consistent. Greens were solid, but most of the tee boxes need a lot of work. Would play there again, wish the course was in a better area though.

On all but 3 or 4 greens, there were massive dead spots. Not dormant, plain dead with parts of greens all dirt. Putting across the surface was an adventure. Balls would bounce all the way to the hole, and careen off line.

Course was in good shape in fairways for the most part but had some damage to greens due to the cold wet weather this last year.

Many of the greens were in very poor condition. Had to move the ball around in many fairways to find grass to hit from. Rough and fairways about the same. Cart paths in bad shape. Quit after 12 holes, enough was enough.

Course was in good shape, but greens are on the mend from treatment for foreign grass.
