Centennial Park Golf Course

I live in the Indianapolis area, and I was immediately comparing this course to Buffer Park in Indianapolis the minute I got there. I am a huge fan of Buffer Park, and Centennial Park is as good as it gets in a 9 hole course. It sits on top of a landfill, and the course is park of a beautiful park in Munster. This course is tough, and it played even harder into the cold strong winds. There are plenty of bunkers, ponds and rough to keep a golfer honest. I really enjoy the par 3s on this course as the both feature beauty and visual intimidation. Precision off the tee is a must at Centennial Park. Bring your imagination as you'll have to hit a variety of tee shots to maximize position. The greens rolled true, but played firm. I had wedges hit hard and bounce on the greens. I really enjoyed the challenge of the course. I'll be back!

It’s links style , easy to lose balls if you fade or draw but outstanding staff and well kept course

I play Centennial as often as I can. It is a great value and a great way to spend time with friends and enjoy the sunshine. it’s challenging and really well kept up. Matt and his staff are always friendly and helpful.

Great staff, simple amenities. It’s only 9 holes but beautiful and fun to play. Definitely a place to go for a nice time with friends

This course is a great deal, bang for the buck & quality of the course.

If I had anything to complain about, I think they could be doing better is the pace of play. Several times I’ve been stuck behind groups taking 3.5 hours for 9 holes.

Golf course was in good shape, a little wet. I was surprised they didn't stop people from playing when the thunder rolled in for a half hour and groups pushed through us. It seemed very unsafe to not call everyone in during a thunderstorm.

Had never played at Centennial, will 100% return! This is a beautiful, well-maintained 9 hole course.

This is not your typical 9 hole muni/parks district course. Centennial Park is a hidden gem, just 30 minutes south of Downtown Chicago. The pro shop staff was friendly and accommodating, and there's a full driving range with grass tees and a practice green. The course has a beautiful layout with a linksy feel and rolling mounds on both sides of the fairways. Unlike most small muni courses, there are 4 sets of dedicated tee boxes and a variety of different hole setups including 500+ yard par 5's, par 3's that require accurate long irons, and a few driveable par 4's that are anything but boring with elevation changes and bunkers guarding the greens for high risk/reward shots. The course is not the most walkable, and I would probably get a cart next time, but it's still a great value at $11 on a weekday afternoon. This course was an incredibly pleasant surprise, I may never play any Chicago Park District courses again after stumbling on Centennial Park.

Challenging but fun layout. Well maintained and a good value for the money. Friendly staff. Will play as again.

I like the course layout and greens are always nice. It is not good to play after the rain because of the mosquitos and the water spots.

Love playing here almost weekly or twice a week. Course is getting better, some fairways could use more TLC. Greens are the best slope and run you’ll see in the area for sure.
Very challenging course that’s for sure. Glad they took away a lot of marsh areas and easier to find your ball.
Plays like a links course being elevated with lots of winds and hills.
Drive for show and putt for dough.
Staff is very friendly and would rather pay at the pro shop for better prices as well.
Trust me and just pay when you get there other than the fake hotdeal and tax prices that golfnow gives.
Don’t knock this course unless you try it on a beautiful day overlooking the region
