Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

After all that rain and still a great course
We've played at Willow Springs several times, but after a super wet May in Texas, we finally had a pretty day to get out and play. The greens were extremely grainy, but could be do to the heavy, heavy rains we've had. Some of the holes had obviously been flooded, and were still cart path only. But what a great job they've done to get it back to playable so soon after the flooding in the area. It's a great course to walk, which is a rare find in the DFW area. The staff is super. It's a great value course too.
Sloppy Course Caree
Given the amount of rains we have had in April and May I personally believe this course got worse or regressed. Meaning, there were numerous dead spots, brown spots, and the greens were poor/dirt at best. Of course the the course was torn up from the rains with many cart ruts, mud holes, and fairway standing water. With the amount of water we have had I would expect this course like a few others I've played in the last few weeks should have been much more green and thick than it really was. Now, it is pasture pool and is relatively inexpensive to play. However, I would NOT pay their normal full price to play this course EVER! Personally playing only Hot deals thru Golf Now ($15 or less) for 18 holes for this course is about the proper cost. Not $30, that's ridiculous to charge people.
Cheap golf, get what you pay for
Played this course the day after all the rains we got in May. They should not have opened the course. Too much standing water and mud. Only played 9 because pace was slow. Also tee time was for 2:03, didn't get on course until 2:50. Not very professional. Pretty much a Mom & Pop run course.
Same as usual
The course was in average condition which could probably be contributed to it being early April, wasn't very green and still a lot of bare spots. Greens were is fairly good condition. However for $40 I wasn't expecting a professional course.
great for the price
Course is being taken care of so it is looking nice. Greens were nice as well.
call the Pro shop before you book.
What I didn't know is that they had a tournament this day and were running late. I got to the course early to use the range and warm up, but the range was closed except for tournament players. Finally on the first tee box 40 min after tee time. very slow pace 6 hours later we finished.
never again
Arrived 45 minutes prior to tee time. Ask for range balls, was told out of range balls and they might pick the range in about 45 minutes. Tee time was 1:00, got off at 1:45.After 41/2 hours was on 13 tee box, yes 13.Marshall said we were in for a 6 hour round because they had so many people on the course. I was told by a group that lives close to the course that this course regularly overbooks when the weather is nice. Left the course and in the future will play one of the many other courses in the DFW area.
still dormant
Nice course for a small town. I will go back once it grows out and probably rate it higher. Gravel cart paths, mixture of small and large greens, most putt true with some slopes of uphill downhill lies. Water is usually visable but there is some hidden. Fairways have grass but they are aerating this week. Give it until mid April and you will enjoy it much more.
Fantastic Weather
The weather was great. Mid 60's with little or no wind. The only problem was there was standing water on the fairways but pick clean and place worked.
The course was flooded
The course was muddy can't really give a fair review
Good course/great value
Other than the slow people in front of us, that did not offer to let us play through, everything was great!
Always a great time!
For early Feb. course was in great shape. Greens in nice condition. Great job!
Good course
Good food. Enjoyable round but play with someone who can let you know where the trouble is on a few holes. Greens are extremely fast.
Very nice time again at Willow Springs. Best breakfast I say . Thank you'll again!!!!!
Very nice time again at Willow Springs.

Best breakfast ever... Thank You
NO common
I wish I can hit the ball constantly in the fairways. Anyway I love the course l will be back.with friends and family.
Great Course Under the Radar
This course is challenging for a newer golfer, but it's a fun challenge. Course it's in great shape.
Playing Willowsprings
I enjoy playing Willowsprings the greens are nice the fairways are cut . the food ain't bad either!
Fun times
Not a bad course if you like a good value play. We have played here quite a bit and will continue to come back. I would recommend playing during the week for better pace.
I AM A NEW GOLFER
I am a new golfer (beginner), I have only played here two time so far. The employees are freindly and conciderate. The course is nice green and a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend this course any time.
Cheap course for a reason
Got the course on golfnow for $24. Awesome! Experience left me feeling glad I only paid the $24. Round took 5.5 hours. And I skipped 18. Apparently they have a scramble tournament every Friday. From the looks of it there was a company outing as well. A few groups of 5 hacking around yelling to their buddies in the group in front or beind. My group was able to play through 3 or 4 groups but still stuck behind slow 4somes the whole way. Tee boxes and fairways were just eh. And the greens were horrid. I know I should of expected all this for the price but I was still surprised. Too many other courses around that price point to be acceptable. On the bright side the cart girl was beautiful and friendly and the beers were only $3 a can. Still I won't be back.
