It's sad
I golf every weekend and we decided to try out Eastwood. The course has the same sad feeling I am seeing on many courses these days. It appears as though the owners have given up. Not that this to cast shame on them as it is a considerable undertaking to maintain a single course, let alone multiple (which I have heard is the case). This course has such potential and I'm sure given the right amount of TLC it could draw the caliber of players that go to those courses I can't afford. The neighborhoods surrounding the course are fairly young (not referring to the inhabitants) and well kept. Maybe there were just too many courses built and this the natural order of things in the land of supply and demand.
Other courses offer better value
We played this course about 6 months ago and were not impressed at all at the course conditions. Decided to give it another chance. Second time and the conditions were the same if not worse. Plenty of other courses in the area that offer better value.
Eastwood Golf Course
I have played here a few times on different days. The staff are friendly . The price to play reasonable. The course is challenging enough without be to easy or hard to be bored. Plenty of wildlife around and water . I have gone at least three times the past few weeks and would recommend it. The issue I see is the restaurant itself is always closed .
Well worth it
I didn’t like this course the first few times I’ve played it but it is grown on me ....it’s very challenging... lots of water ....lots of woods.....excellent conditions compared to many courses this time of year ....well worth it.....think I paid 16 bucks if you’re anywhere nearby give it a shot
Great customer service to compliment a great course
Me and my buddies have been to most of the courses in central Florida and Eastwood is by far our favorite. Course is great, the staff is even better. Would definitely recommend Eastwood.
Good value
Course is coming back. Greens are good, fun layout, needs additional work, good value
The Greens
Played here this morning. Greens are incredible. Courses conditions were good. Staff was very nice.
Awesome value
The course has certainly improved over the last 2 years and is getting back to how it was 10 years ago, An excellent layout as always but now the greens have improved immensely and the fairways too are getting better and better.
Very affordable
Second time playing this course. Very affordable and conditions are good for the price.
Great Value Course
I love this course. The layout is great, but the course could definitely use some TLC. The fairways are quite firm and the boundaries of all the greens look like they're marked GUR. They just aerated a couple weeks ago and they're still kind of hard to judge speeds, but that's understandable. My one and only real gripe is the bunkers. Most of them are rock hard, some actually have physical rocks in them to the point of being unplayable. All in all, it's a great course for the money, and I feel like improvements are being made. I'll definitely be playing there again.
Standing water on greens
It hasn’t rained in over a week yet a bunch of the holes and greens were drenched. Putting with your feet in puddles is not golf. The layout of this course is very cool with all the doglegs, it’s just a shame they don’t care about the course.
Fair price and will be back soon.
Some greens need a bit of care and quite a few tee boxes as well. Pro shop staff was friendly. Only issue I had was a group of 5 in their early 20’s with ZERO etiquette in front of us. Great price and I will be back soon.
Not as bad as the reviews say
First off Donna in the pro shop was amazing. She accommodated a very last second addition to our group and her smiling face was the perfect way to start a round! The course was in much better shape than reviews say. Greens rolled very well. Course is rough on the edges but overall for the money it’s the best value in central Florida.
