OK
The course has a lot of traffic, fairways beaten down, by noon area around holes was getting in bad shape, maybe move the holes during the day?
disappointed
No one turned away, course overbooked. Had to wait 45 minutes past tee time to tee off. Ran out of carts. Range "ambassador" extremely rude (everyone else was professional). Liked the Challenger course, except for having to use port-a-potty at the turn. May play there again on a weekday, but never again on a weekend.
This course is out dated with fairways in bad shape and greens, well i can't find the words to print.
For the money this course should be in a lot better shape, I know I didn't pay $100 but I have played course for a lot less that were in better shape. The problem is you can't be to mad if you shoot a good round, but the greens, fairways and some of the tee boxes were like hitting off of hard pan. No reason for a course to get in this bad of shape if you are charging the amount they are charging. First and last time.
The course could use attention
Most of the front 9 holes could use watering on the fairways.
Greens were fine. Bear Creek is a great course, I would just like to see it in better conditions.
Excellent for beginners or returning golfers knocking of the rust
Always enjoyed playing here as a member..booking with golf now here is even more of a bargain than membership rates... Thanks!
Worth it at Hot Deal Time cost only
The staff was friendly and the food is very good. Unfortunately, the course is not in good shape. The greens are green, but the grass is so long that it's like putting on shag carpet. The fairways are void of grass and tee boxes are only slightly better. A new course superintendent might be in order...unless the current one is being restricted by budget. I'm not going to be going back unless I'm playing on the Hot Deal costs like I did this past Friday afternoon where I only paid $6.99 plus tax.
Greens on President Course need to be addressed
Greens are meant to be putted on.
The greens on the presidents course are more like my front yard.
Too long, too heavy, too thick to putt through on most holes. One out of every four is much faster, but the majority are sponge like and so thick that when a golfer walks on the green his/her spikes catch and pull the grass up and out.
I have played this course three times in he last two weeks (belong in three senior clubs). Number one complaint from other golfers I play with? Ball doesn't roll on greens! I have seen far too many missed short putts and balls stray in different directions as the balls slows.
Even hitting a short pitch shot of 20-25 yards the ball hits and backs up a foot or so. Grass blades are at least an inch long and pressed down. Divots are only in grass, can't hit down into the soil under the grass due to thickness of grass.
The only golfers who putt okay on these greens are the ones who have played here for a long time.
I would like to talk to the greens keeper about the greens to find out why they are looking to making them unputtable.
Most of the golfers complain about the bare fairways but at least a golfer can hit off the dirt, but to not be able to roll the ball on the greens???
I grew up next to bear creek.
So i played here a bunch growing up. This is one of three courses at bear creek. This is the "middle" one. You dont really need a driver to play this and its really simple and flat and straight. The greens dont need to really be played either unfortanately...they're very flat and simple. If your a decent golfer and decide to play at bear creek, i think the masters course is most worth your money.
A great ego-booster course
This course is really good for what it is. And it is a very simple, no frills course. This is a really good course for beginners or people who just got beaten up by a nice course and need to recover some confidence. It was very dry and could benefit from some additional maintenance, but for the price, it's about what one should expect. The staff and other players were all very friendly. If you're a serious player, this isn't a course for you, but if you're a beginner or just looking for a cheap, fun round, this isn't a bad option.
i grew up right next to bear creek
I was playing here multiple times a week since i was little. This is one of three courses at bear creek. This is the shortest and simplest. You do not need a driver in your bag to play this course. Very open.
Poor condition, slow pace of play
On busy afternoon arrived at starter 10mins, early, told to come back in 45 mins and see then if tee was open. They let singes and doubles go off on busy day! No watering of tee boxes or fairways, dead grass with dirt patches.
The Master Course is In bad Shape
The Master golf course is In bad Shape, The green ok condition but extremely slow but the fairways needs a lot of repairs and attention.
beginner friendly
most holes are straight without many traps nor water
Greens are in excellent shape. I played the Presidents Course which has only a few lateral water hazards and no sand bunkers. Everything is wide open
The Presidents is a nice, easy course to get around. Great for your confidence and ego. Everything is wide open and there are no sand bunkers and only lateral water hazards that can easily be avoided. Greens are wide and in good shape.
This course has very few obstacles.
It is a good course to practice your drives and short game. The fairways are wide and you do not lose too many balls.
Fairways are Fast and the Greens are Slow
Bear Creek President's course is not difficult by any means. It is a lot of straight Par 4s, Long Par 3s and some fun Par 5s. The grass in the fairways has begun to die due to the summer heat, which means if you are in the fairway, your ball is going to roll and roll. The greens are very alive and green. You can tell due to the amount of water that most of the greens are slow. President's is a great course to play for those who shoot in the high 90s because it is very open and very straight forward.
Not worth full price
Fun course but wouldn't pay full price. I just found a good deal on golf now but it's not worth the approx. $40 they charge. No sand in the bunkers which makes them hard to get out of. Course maintained fairly well but it just seems like they aren't bringing in quite as much money as they used to in order to keep up with three courses.
Please train your marshals
Bear Creek President's Course is a simple layout with all trouble easily evident from tee. Greens are lush but are a bit bumpy and slow. Fairways were good for the most part but there were a few areas that were dry. Was having an enjoyable outing until marshals put a damper on things. One marshal was so busy hunting golf balls, he failed to notice us on the tee box (about 20 yards adjacent to us) and proceeded to motor right on through and across hitting zone. Another Marshal appeared to have no clue as to what cart paths are and was merrily zooming here, there, and back again crossing in and out of our hitting range multiple times. Who knew marshals were allowed to drive carts within 5 yards of greens. I am recommending this course for the high handicappers and those who want to shoot low but watch out for the runaway marshals.
Straight as an Arrow
The Presidents Course at Bear Creek is 18 holes of pure straightness. They give you the scorecard and you almost don't believe how there isn't a single turn on the course. It's a fun course that is manageable to score on. The maintenance towards the course is pitiful. It seemed as if the greens and tee boxes had not been cut for about a week! So the greens almost made up for how easy the rest of the course was. If playing at Bear Creek, definitely choose the Masters Course.
