Great Last Minute Round

My young nephew and I decided to play a last minute round on our way back to Denver from Vail. The day started cold but warmed up to be a perfect golf day. Due to construction, the course only had 14 of the 18 holes open but it was the perfect amount of golf for us that day. The course has a good mix of hole layouts from Mountain and to Valley holes. They could use new carts, ours was a bit clunky.

Great Value for Good Conditions and Pace of Play

I have played Copper Creek many times over the years including tournament play. Pace of play was 2:45 for 14 holes which is outstanding for Summit County resort courses. Summit courses often range 4:45 - 6 hours.
You will likely find a small backup on 8th hole which continues to drivable 9th par 4.
Only drawback is there are only 14 holes due to construction on back 9, but they have adjusted price accordingly. On GolfNow there is an optional pricing for 9 or 14.
Original front 9 with all same tees and greens. Greens are quite fast right and rolling nice which is a big deal for me because I rely in my short game to score. Only one green is below average (#9) and it's been that way for as long as I can remember. Hope you don't have to make a 5 footer birdie. Views are amazing. Low score on course layout because it's generally short but some small greens protect scoring overall and one of the classic, tough short par 4s (#16) is now a 110 yard downhill hole from the blue tees.

Out of control Marshall

Marshall was way overly aggressive...our couples foursome got chewed out twice because we were holding up the twosomes behind us. Finished the 9 holes in 2:15....on a weekday....in perfect weather....on a mountain course.

Great views of the SKY chutes and the valley. Course plays narrow with a lot of foliage all around.

Under construction

We played the 14 holes that were open. The web page said that we would play the front nine twice due to construction on the back nine, but when we arrived, we were informed that we would be playing 14 of the holes instead. Misleading. Most of the holes were in good condition, but three of the greens were in very bad shape and were not good enough to putt on. The course layout is very short except for a couple of holes. Its an interesting and relatively fun course with a variety of looks and elevation changes. We had a pretty good time, but I wouldn't return. Overall, not a good value.
