Good time with friends
It was a little wet, for some reason the LaQuinta course does not drain as well as the Eldorado. It was cart path only while Eldorado was not which slowed play but overall good time
Golf course should have been closed. All 18 holes were water logged due to poor drainage. Even the cart paths had patches of water. The restrooms need rehabilitation. The greens were okay but the bunkers had hard soil. The entire drainage system needs to be looked into.
Course conditions after a rain.
The LaQuinta side doesn’t drain well at all after rains. Majority of the holes will have puddles of water. They have new ball washers with no water in them and no towel to dry the balls off. No big deal about having no towel to dry the balls, but at least put some water in the washers. The cart paths need to be totally renovated. And bunkers filled with a better choice of sand would be nice. Other than what was mentioned above, it’s a good facility with a lot of potential for greatness. Great course layout, and decent greens!
Fun and challenging course
This course is a ton of fun and challenging for all skill levels. This was my first time playing the course so I played from the golds but the course is very long, has a lot of undulations, elevated greens and sandtraps. Greens are well kept and fast but, maybe 3-4 holes had some very small rough spots on the green. Pace of play is pretty okay and some cart paths are very beat up. Friendly staff, plenty of gear in the clubhouse and apparently the grill next the the clubhouse is very good. Bring lots of golf balls and expect to hit very long and accurate drives all day if you plan to play from the tips.
Traps on LaQuinta side need real sand, not dirt!
Fairways are starting to crack due too prolonged hot days!
Slow
Pace of play was extraordinarily slow. Marshal didn’t properly manage the groups in front of my group.
bunker is in poor condition, the else is good
the speed of green around 8.0, price for 10 holes is good.
Great layout and value
Could not believe how nice the fairways were for late February. Greens were rolling nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Was by myself and hooked up with a single and twosome out on course. Had a great day
Bad Day at Quail Valley
Showed up for my 12:07 tee time on LaQuinta. Excited to play golf the weather was great nothing can go wrong so I thought. Walked in the clubhouse and was a cluster very unorganized.
The first problem was there is no golf carts. This has been ongoing problem I expected that. But what I was told next I didn't expect. The employee working the desk said if you want to use a cart today it will be 1.5 hour wait. Then he went on to say you can walk but you have to go get in line at the tee box.
Again I have a tee time. And to make it even worse they were sending all players to LaQuinta for some reason they closed Eldorado. My group decided to walk and get our Sunday round in but it wasn't a good experience. LaQuinta was backed up as you would expect. Waiting on ever tee box to hit. Just not a good experience, not what I expected. I play at Quail Valley very often and really love the facility and the courses. They have a few problems they need to fix especially the golf cart issue. A course with this much prestige can do better.
