Great winter golf
For the time of the year, the course conditions were brilliant. Well worth the price
Loved this course
Surprised how good the course was, enjoyed playing there, will definitely come again
Excellent Course and friendly staff
Course was absolutely stunning, first time here but we will definitely be back, can't wait to play here in the summer, staff also very friendly, greeted by the secretary in the club house who came out his was to greet us and have a conversation, 10 out of 10, cannot pick a fault with this course/club
Solid course with good mixture of par 3's, 4's and longer par 5's
Been round the course a few times now and issually no issues.
Over 50% of the holes are up or down hill so beware of that.
Can get backed up as it gets busy from mid morning through to early afternoon.
Dissapointed when we recently played as when got to the Clubhouse there was a notice that 3 holes were closed and it was still full price to play.
A course worth playing
Ashbourne GC is a friendly club, the course itself is a challenge with a good variety of holes. The course has always been looked after when I have played there, greens run at a good speed and fairways in very good condition. A course I will be playing a lot more often!
Testing but fair
We had an enjoyable round on a fairly challenging course. Some very interesting holes and some on gradients that may prove to be a physical challenge for players that are not physically fit. The course was in very good condition and the greens were very good. Good pace and rolled well. The staff and all of the members that we encountered were very friendly. I would revisit if I am in the area again
What a place to be
What a fantastic golf course it has plenty of ups and downs for a challenge. The course is in great condition members are friendly and great club house
Great views
Great course, interesting holes, established layout and receptive and good running greens:
Hidden gem
Great course, short but challenging with some picturesque holes.
Winter golf
Amazing that they’ve kept the course open.
Temporary tees all have distance markers .
All on summer greens
Only 15 holes open , but priced accordingly .
Great round .
Ashbourne
Really like this course.
Course holding up well despite weather.
Temporary tees all have specific yardage ( not many courses have this )
3 holes closed - we knew this when booking , but not disclosed on golf now .
Exciting Holes, Open Course
Played it for the first time yesterday. Really enjoyed it although 4 holes were shut due to weather the course was still in good condition the greens were excellent and made for a very enjoyable round. Shall certainly play again
Ashbourne in the worst weather
It has been wet for a week and the weather worsened through the day but it was admirable that the course stayed open.
Lots of mud and standing water but the greens (not winter) were pretty good.
Nice variety of holes.
Worth every bit of the £20 fees
Lovely course & staff
Made to feel really welcome. Beautiful course and very well maintained given the recent weather. One of my favourites.
Really nice
Although 3 holes were closed due to water and considering the weather conditions, I really enjoyed playing this course and will definitely be returning when the weather changes to play ALL 18 holes and hopefully enjoy a pint afterwards in the 19th
HARD WORK
Take a trolley.... the course is in the foot hills of the Peak District and you will feel it afterwards!
Up steep, down steep it is GRAFT!!!
Lovely course, very well kept and plenty of blind holes. You would be doing well playing to your handicap on this course for a first visit but 100% worth playing.
Enjoyable round
Obviously in partial lockdown at the moment so could not use the none golf facilities.
The course is in good condition. The course is beautifully undulating and not as steep as we expected. Plenty of trees and mainly elevated greens.
Only negative comment is the lockdown ball lift out device being used in the holes is rather flimsy and not so easy to use, there are better more sturdy devices in use at other courses.
Overall an enjoyable day, we will be back to play again.
