Great course
Really lovely course and very well kept. Some lovely holes and greens are in great condition. Our first visit but will definitely be returning often now.
Great value for money
Tough as you can’t go in the rough and expect to find your ball, but course in great condition and nice layout.
Good course - rubbish staff
Overall the course was good, unfortunately there’s a job worth there speeding up the play when you’re not holding anyone up and ahead of the recommended playing time - probably gets controlled by his missus at home so feels like it’s the only play he can be dominant
Course looking really good
The fairways and greens are looking really good. For a public course this is in great condition. When it’s windy that offers a lot more of a challenging course but even without that there’s plenty of bunkers and water to make you think about your shots. The staff are excellent, really welcoming. The bar area could do with a bit of a re-fresh & they need to increase the choice of food available but maybe that will come as we come out of Covid restrictions.
Blakes
Very qell kept inland links course .
Qyite hilly and long , so advisable to get a buggy .
For those who like to walk , great exercise and some challenging holes.
The island hole ( 8th) is fabulous and a real test of your short game.
A real good afternoon of golf and well worth a visit
Very impressed
I was very impressed with this course. The greens were immaculate and the tee boxes were very well maintained. Loved the island hole. I would definitely recommend and will be back. Good job Blakes
Good day
The first time playing this course with some friends that are members. Good links style course that is fairly forgiving off of the tee.
Only issue for me is loads of clover, even on the fairways allows ball to get cough up and slowed down off of the tee, this is annoying when you have hit a good drive.
However a good day out with friends on a good golf course.
leaps and bounds
I don’t want to say too many nice things about it, because I don’t want it to get too crowded :) I haven’t played there in more than 3 years because the last time I played it the greens were an embarrassment. Although they are still not as fast as they should be, they are receptive and they’re also no longer missing large swathes of grass like they did 3 years ago.
Nice improvements of the clubhouse as well.
Enjoy playing this course
This is my third time playing here and it's a course that I intend to come back to.
On a very busy bank holiday, the pace of play was pretty reasonable, with only one or two idiots in buggies who seem to think that they don't need to wait, despite the fact that it was pretty obvious that we we were waiting for the players in front to clear the fairway or green.
Only negative about the course itself was that some of the tees and the fairways appeared not to have been cut for a couple of days.
Overall, terrific value for a course where every hole offers a unique challenge.
Needs a drink cart, Greens better, penal off line
Can’t help but think this course throws £500 a day away on a warm weekend by not having a drinks / snack cart.
Greens were in best condition I’ve seen here in 18 months which was great, but pace of play was slow because the course can be penal off line. It’s a catch 22, make a course relatively cheap, get higher handicappers playing, you have to make the course slightly easier offline for those guys and girls that spray the ball a bit.
Cheap as chips but not great condition
A longish course with not many trees so very open. Fairways 6/10 very patchy and lots of bare parts.
Tees really chopped up on many tees and greens were bumpy, long and lots of ridges.
Not bad for the price we paid but far better course within a few miles for not much more.
Worth a go if you want to practice you game
Mid Week Round
We had a great round of golf and the pace of play was excellent. It was a bit damp during the round but we still had an enjoyable game of golf. The 17th still needs a bit more development and sometimes I wonder if the order of the holes could change a little as you have to walk back and forth on the back 9 but otherwise very good.
8th hole
Blinding course 1of my favourites. Well recommend. Will be back soon
