Good length course

Good length course, greens only average, bunkers are best avoided due to Covid no rake policy. Pro is approachable. Some very slow member 4 balls but got waved through reluctantly. Overall I enjoyed the test.

First time for a while

I like this course. Not played it for a few years. Not the easiest to post a low score even though it’s a pretty flat course. Struggled with speed of greens but that’s more to do with not playing for 6 months than the quality of the greens.

Long and flat

First round back ... first round on this course.
Long, flat and pretty forgiving this course. Tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition. Greens a bit rough and patchy in some.
Enjoyable day, all in all. We’re actually returning in 2 days time.
**Didn’t use any clubhouse facilities.

Slow play

2 X 4 balls in front of us and both treating it as a mess around. Waiting on the green to be clear on a 400 yd plus fairway then only driving 50 yds. In the waiting time just running around. Don't get me wrong I'm no expert golfer but this was too much. So fed up never completed the round and finished on 16th. 2 X 4 balls waiting at every tee from 11 hole. Sorry but it's going to be a long time before I go back

Enjoyable

The first day after lockdown was always going to be busy. Our first 9 never really got going due to the amount of golfers on the course. Luckily we booked a mid afternoon tee time so by the time we had reached the 10th the course was fairly quiet.
The course was in excellent condition. Fairways were good, greens the same albeit quite slow, but it is still early in the year, and in whole a very enjoyable round.

Horror show

Hate to be critical of any course. But this was just horrible.
Obviously lacking in staff or investment as the greens were just terrible.
I appreciate course maintenance has to happen but seriously this was more like a farmer’s field. Fairway were ok but most other parts of the course were badly. And I mean badly in need of some serious help.
Never felt ripped off paying £25 for 18 holes till today.
Really poor won’t be returning

Winter Golf

After a lot of rain the course was set up to accommodate the course staying open without completely wrecking it, which was brilliant. Was a great round, very slow though. The pro still using the old paper booking system so not updating BRS/Golf Now quickly enough so many tee times from 8am-12pm were double booked. Other than that we’ll definitely be going back. Make sure to grab a bacon sandwich and a coffee from the clubhouse before!

Great course

Not very easy to find after leaving M62,needs a sign post at the roundabout. Apart from that the staff were very friendly and well coming, the course was well kept and was enjoyable to walk around.

Well over subscribed

The club has obviously tried to cash in on a weekend when most other courses in the area have closed due to the bad weather. The golf now app showed that there were tees available all day. However this was clearly incorrect.
As a result we were behind 8 groups (mostly 4 balls) on the first tee.
The pro gave us some free range balls for our troubles whilst we waited, although after coming back 45 mins later the tee was still backed up. Even when the course was obviously rammed the pro was still accepting walk-ins.
Every tee there was a 10 minute wait and this was the longest round I have ever had, even when 2 holes were shut.

Nice course, good value.

Well maintained course, nice layout, few interesting holes and easy to walk. Club house, pro shop and members all friendly. Well worth the fee paid and would play again.
