Great course
The course is in fantastic shape. The weather was kind. The views were amazing. Love this course
A challenging course
First nine a bit of an Everest assault, back nine less so. Challenging throughout as built on the side of a hill. Some nice par 3's , plenty of water and well guarded greens. Several blind holes, one had marker post for drive, and a second marker post for second shot. We lost quite a few balls. Greens were superb.
You need to be fit for this course
Burnley GC
A friendly welcome and helpful advice from pro-shop.
Great value for money
Great course , every hole is challenging, love to play this in the summer, would definitely recommend
Decent course
Nice enough course but a few things let it down.
1. Not enough memorable holes- most are just average I’d say
2. Very hilly course. Most holes are uphill or sloped upwards. It’s a bit of a slog to be honest
3. Burnley GC must have the most blind shots of any course in the U.K. I’ve never seen anything like it. One par 5 had a blind tee shot and then a blind second shot.
4. Not a negative as such but lots of signs everywhere telling you what to do and what not to do. Burnley GC must hold the record for the sheer number of them. My favourite being ‘please wear spiked shoes- soft spikes not ideal’ or something- on the 9th tee!
I paid £17 which is good value despite the fact I wouldn’t play again due to the points above.
Tidy course
Really nice course. Played off winter tees but all greens where in really good condition. And although we've had plenty of rain this week the course was really dry.
I would definitely play again and would definitely recommend to others.
Great winter golf
Not sure what the review below is on about, all greens were in play, playing off winter tees / semi rough.
Course in good condition for the time of year / helps being up in the hills.
Clear day too so visibility / views were great.
Highly recommend.
Winter golf
Wasn't aware when booking that it was winter tees and greens. Wouldn't have booked if we had known
Great day out
Brilliant golfcourse
amazing views
Great condition for October
A true hidden gem!
I don't use the term Hidden Gem lightly but this course was truly that. The course layout is excellent, its condition superb and the greens true and quick. The views across Lancashire from the upper tees also stunning.
After golf we had some lunch and the friendliness of the staff and secretary again was faultless. I would recommend this to any golfer no matter their ability it has something for everyone. I will definetly be returning to play it in warmer conditions.
Great value
Played here for the first time and really enjoyed it,course is in excellent condition and layout is spot on,staff in the pro shop are really friendly, there are better courses but I doubt there are better courses for value.
Almost perfect
Course as always was in top Nick, and club shop pro was very approachable and welcoming. Only niggly negative, the club website said the bar area would be open, but upon finishing our round and wanting a drink and lunch, ‘Twas not open.
Great views
First time at Burnley GC and we will certainly be back. The course is in excellent condition with fast sloping greens.
The course is hilly and worth an electric trolley, but there are great views from the top of the course.
We were lucky with the weather, a beautiful clear, still day, I expect it would be tough in the wind.
There are some blind tee shots, which means a second round is a must to improve the score.
Excellent greens
Course layout is lovely with the 18th Hole being the feature Hole something to look forward to no matter how your playing. Greens are in great condition very fast and very well maintained. The roll on them is lovely some of the best I've played this year. So many fun challenging holes on this course will definitely be back to play it again
Course in great condition
Great condition, fantastic greens. The maturing trees now make this a much more attractive course and some of the rough has been cut back so more forgiving.
Burnley gc
A tough physical test very hilly course but a good test of your driving abilities, not for the beginner this course to difficult that's for sure .Course in great nick fairways very good well groomed, greens Supreme had green keeper pat yourself on the back..It wasn't cheap to play £24 .Would recommend but drop ypur prices ..
Challenging!
Very friendly staff, gorgeous views but extremely physically challenging.
