Worth a visit
Bit been for her a little while. Bank Holiday weekend and it was pretty busy. Got round in 3.5 hrs (but was waiting to hit every shot). Not a long course and not overly difficult but very enjoyable. Greens were good.
Will def come back
Wet
Course has such bad drainage
Some of the greens had puddles on them !!!
Well worth a visit
First time here. Got a decent rate green fee and really enjoyed my round. It's not a long course and it's not overly difficult (you don't need to be long be you need to hit straight). The front 9 is especially enjoyable being more undulating. Fairways are pretty wide for the most part. Course was in decent condition but the greens could have been better in places. The fringes are pretty good (easy for chipping on). Practice facilities are excellent. The range looks awesome and new (didn't use it so don't know what it costs), has a putting green and and really great short game area.
Staff in the shop were friendly and it had loads of good stuff.
Weirdly there are only two lakes though and a great line of electricity pylons (I guess Chelsfield Pylons didn't have the same ring to it).
I definitely go back if i find another good rate green fee.
(score 75)
Great course
Very well laid out course.
The electricity line was rather bothersome though.
Whilst playing I could hear the buzzing sound which was a bit disturbing but otherwise it was an enjoyable round
Having not played golf for the last 15 years due to a serious back injury it was great to be able to play again. Really enjoyed the corse not changed at all fairways a bit scorched due to the weather but green was in good nick.
Chelsfield Lakes (18 Hole)
Great test in good condition especially for this time of the year (November)
Slowest play I have ever seen
In 34 yeats of golf I have never witnessed a course as over crowded as Chelsfield Lakes was yesterday.
Arriving on the 1st tee I discovered that the 4 ball in front of me had the exact same tee time as me (1.20pm) and they went off 5 minutes late. A bad start.
There were 3 four balls in front and 3 four balls behind me. Every inch of the course was being played. The first tee was like a supermarket queue at the height of coronavirus.
The first hole took 25 minutes. I left the course.
Why does Chelsfield Lakes allow tee times to be double booked and good golf days ruined?
Over priced
Very disappointing course. It was supposed to be challenging but way too easy . Ideal for Societies.
Main issue was price. Wouldn’t want to pay any more than £20 but had to pay £27. Will definitely not be returning.
Chelsfield Lakes 18 hole course
Played in a 3 ball. Found the staff in the pro shop and the bar/restaurant to be very friendly.
Nice course, which was if good condition a bit hilly in places but better than most.
Good facilities, Range, putting and chipping & putting areas including a couple of practice sand traps.
Only slight negative is that the bar area, although clean is looking a bit tired.
Would definitely play there again.
Nice Course
Course in very good condition, played on a windy day this time which made it quite a bit more tricky, without the wind it is quite a bit easier although can still mess a round up with poor play. Suitable for all handicaps.
Only downside is it tends to attract large societies so could be slow play if you get behind one of them, on the day we played the course was quiet and we zipped round as a 3 ball in under 3 hours.
Poor club house and staff in there.
The course wasn't to bad, no winter tees, and no temporary greens all a bonuse. Reception staff nice helpful.
Down side air cleaning machine not working , not good in winter, club house coffee machine turned off because closing in 30 minutes, no good on a cold day. Beer pump not working. Club house closing far to early only 4.15. Made to feel really in welcome, so we left.
