Nice course with stunning views of the Lake District
Well worth playing, nice layout, quite short course but some tricky holes with small greens. Great condition for time of year, looks like a course that drains well. It is high up so open to the elements but on a clear day you’re rewarded with stunning views. Only a couple of steepish climbs especially the 3rd so not to hard on the legs.
Great little course
Great course
Quite short but very hilly and interesting
Great Golf Course
Played my local Cockermouth course and not having played it for a few years I was pleasantly surprised with its condition. This course is exposed to the elements and although relatively short when the wind blows the front 9 is a tough test. Really enjoyed my round and would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf and a hike
A Bit of a Slope.
This was a good course. Challenging in that most of the holes have some sort of slope. Lies can he a bit tricky depending on where your ball lands. There are no sand bunkers but grassy knolls. There are two steep hills to go up which could cause a problem if you have any kind of heart/respiratory condition.
Absalutly beautiful course with some unusual holes where you drive over a sheep field to hit the fairway. Stunning views all around. If you get the chance play this course. The holes are short but it plays longer due to the hilly nature. Only one really steep fairway so if you’re averagely fit you’ll find the course a delight
Short country course
I had an enjoyable first round here. It is a short country course on top of a hill with a number of quirky holes. It was in decent condition for early April.
Lovely views, I’d recommend it for a round of you are in the northern Lake District
Beautiful views.
Lovely views.
Course well maintained.
No bunkers???? It’s part of the game.
Some nice holes but a few just where you would squeeze them in.
Overall a nice course.
Excellent
Great course. Some challenging holes. Greens in excellent condition
Well worth playing if your in the area
Excellent
Played in terrible rain, and the course was brilliant, particularly the greens!! A challenging lay out and overall a superb course with incredibly friendly staff. Will defiantly return.
golf in the time of covid
delightful staff provided me with clubs, bag and trolley; and sent me out with everything needed for a day playing solo golf. The views in all directions make the course a must visit...plus the fact that it has excellent drainage and is situated on a ridge which must help after Lakeland rain. Lots of demanding par fours and some good fun blind shots.
Stunning scenery
Clear blue skies with fantastic views across the Lake District.
As a first timer at Cockermouth found course quite challenging but it’s in great condition and the views are just breathtaking.
Held up and not let through!
Canny little course, in decent nick, short but a challenge, unfortunately a belligerent group of 3 would not let me play through even though by 4th hole I had caught up to the teebox the same time as they had tee’ed off, ended up with 3 groups combined behind them all they way around, still being held up, disappointing behaviour, that’s not golf etiquette!!
