Tricky start and well maintained course
Only discovered this course a couple of years back but it is a firm favourite of mine. What you see is what you get. Mature course with plenty of trees lining the holes. No dog legs. Greens are true and medium to large in size and well maintained. Tee boxes are narrow and rotated so no muddy or fully worn out areas. Though it was drizzling and high winds at times it was still playable and people obviously enjoy playing it as the weather predictions lived up to the billing but golfers still prepared to play. Car Parking is an issue with a tight carpark and very tight slots. But that won't put me off visiting again.
Great London Course
Very good course and very well situated for people coming from inner London.
For a first time player the course can be a little confusing and rating down rate of play as we were behind a society. Understand not representative.
nice course greens good
enjoyed the game friendly staff.
only had trouble finding my way around the course.
hardly any signs for the the next tee. lost a lot of time
Never disappoints
A great afternoon of golf. As a single golfer I was let through with both grace and cheer by two groups and then I teamed up with another pair when we all caught a slowish foursome on the back nine. There is plenty of challenge on this course with trees and out-of-bounds often a concern. Tees and greens in good shape. Fairways mostly verdant green despite the dry weather earlier in the summer. Strongly recommended.
Enjoyable course
Good location , nice view, many good driving holes friendly staff and ample off course facilities.
Very enjoyable day out for me and my golfing partner..
Will play again.
Value for money
Great cause, in great condition and feels premium compared to others that are similarly priced.
You need to try this course
I admit, I wanted clearer and better maintained fairways and greens, BUT overall it is a fun course to play.
Decent length to challenge all levels and good social atmosphere.
Will be returning
Terrible
The course is in a terrible state and the play was very slow. Bunkers unplayable, greens a mess, fairways not cut.
We walked off after 10 holes.
Can’t believe I’ve lived 30 mins from this course for the past 12yrs and yesterday was my first round here. Got it for £30 on golf now and that price it was bargain. Good mixture of longer and shorter holes, some straight forward and some get you thinking. Fairways were baked dry and green in very good condition so a perfect day for scoring.
I was playing alone and found all the members to be very polite and helpful (can get a bit confusing which direction to walk to each tee) and they all were very quick to let me play through.
Will 100% be back.
Friendly welcome
Friendly reception in the pro shop with a quick brief on the layout. Nice clubhouse and bar. The course is in decent enough shape all things considered. The greens were slightly dried out and cracked in places on a couple of holes but otherwise ran true and had some interesting and challenging undulations to deal with. Fairways were in ok condition but hard considering the recent hot weather. There were a few unlucky bounces ruining a couple of otherwise good drives. Bunkers were pretty dire, full of pebbles and weeds although there was enough sand to make a stab at it. Layout of the course in general was a little boring, mostly just straight up fairways with no real doglegs to deal with. Tee boxes were pretty tired too. Overall I thought for the price (£35) it was a decent course albeit in need of a little TLC. I'll be back though, hopefully after the course has had a little rain and attention given to the condition.
