Paid a large fee was not not anywhere that the 18 holes i paid for only included front 9. Course was water logged boggy and unplayable with people going round a very silly speed it took nearly 3 hours to play 9 holes in conditions like that i find it discusting they charge that amount of money when you are not going to get a golf experience. This is problem with golf its all money. Days like this if they was to keep people happy if conditions are poor charge less money for those who want to keep playing not 22 quid for 9 holes in a mud bath

Fore!!

This was a sound we heard on a regular basis on our round. As the fairways run parallel to each other on the front 9 you do have to keep your eyes and ears alert. There are two greens only separated by a tee and it would be good to look at protection for those on the tee.

Other than that the course offers plenty of challenge and there are a large number of dog leg holes and holes where you cannot see the green from the tee. Many of the par 3s are short and provide an excellent opportunity to consolidate your score. The majority of the greens are easily reachable in regulation without having to hit a very long tee shot.

I really like the course and the price is so reasonable. The tees were a bit worn and there were some holes with a lot of debris on them. It would be good if the club could look at ensuring this is addressed each morning.

I shall return.

Crookhill Park

Could be a great course but lacks proper maintenance. Bunkers filled with builders sand not raked or prepared. All should have been G.U.R 18th was so bad impossible to play out of due to tractor Tyre marks. Difficult to tell what was fairway and light rough on some holes. Tees were average and the greens needed work one being badly worn. Afraid I shan't return unless I hear it has improved. Still I suppose you get what you pay for!

1st time playing Crookhill

Unfortunately I would not recommend anyone plays this course, the tees are terrible (not been cut and bare of grass) the bunkers have no sand and have not been looked after at all, over grown with grass and weeds. Fairways are cut and looked after, but quite a few greens have bare muddy patches.

Poorly maintained course

Second time playing here. Played a few months ago and thought the poor state last time was because of covid restrictions....I must have been wrong! Tee boxes were shocking and everyone was either overgrown or bare, greens were slow and needed cut badly. Bags of empty beer bottles strewn on some tees, not even in the bins! It was just shabby everywhere you looked. I was held up by a 4 ball consisting of 4 elderly couples for 3 holes, I was nearly 8mins between my drive and second shot on the 6th hole! Luckily one of the women lost her ball on the next hole and they waved me through! Someone with a bit of knowledge of how to run a course needs to be employed to sort the place out. I wont be back!

No improvements

2nd time I have played this course and after reading other reviews we all say the same but no improvements are made ie some T Boxes are all bare no turf what so ever, the bunkers are a disgrace and require maintenance, greens not been cut for some 7 to 10 days. The pace of play was absolutely atrocious thanks to a 4 ball playing for the town hall clock took 4 and a half hours to get round will definitely not be going back.

Value for money

The bunkers definitely need attention with weeding and fresh sand in some places. Some tee boxes are bald and others are over grown in places. That said it’s a challenging little course and good value for money (£13) You need to be accurate as there’s lots of over hanging trees which can mean you having to hit under trees or tap out.

We will be back

Great value for money, quite a few bunkers require weeding and more sand. The majority of T box are like a dust bowl and require another of maintenance. Fairways really good. 1 or 2 greens need attention but the majority are superb and true.Pace of play was great fairly empty 3 hours to complete the round.

A little rough around the edges but you can’t expect much more for a tenner.

For practice it’s better than spending a tenner on a range and is a nice walk.

Need to review tee time setup

2nd round in a row that the hold up has been ridiculous, 2-3 groups on a tee box waiting!
If you are going to have OAP/ women 4 balls out you need to review the tee times!

Enjoyable round, great layout, greens a bit slow

Enjoyed 11 holes after work. Very friendly welcome and layout is very good / forgiving. Tees boxes are scruffy and the greens slow but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Great value
