Terrible customer service
Arrived we arrived at the course to be told by security that the course was closed!
We pre warning email or anything from either the course or Golf Now! Wasted our time and it was too late to book anywhere else!
No refund mentioned from anyone from the £90 we had paid and I will be contacting my credit card company for a refund and lodging a formal complaint unless funds paid to Golf Now are received within 48 hours.
A compete disgrace with zero customer service..you all should be ashamed.
Nice round on a cold cold day
Had a pleasant round of golf on a cold cold morning when many other of the local courses weee closed.
The course was solid that led to some interesting bounces, but was nice to be out on the course.
Only down side to the round was a group of members that cut in on the tenth hole and proceeded to slow our pace of play, also ignored ringing the bell on the 15th and 16th holes to let us know it was safe to tee off.
Great for the time of year
As my home course was basically closed with temporary greens and hole closures, we played wychwood and the condition of the fairways were more than decent for the time of year and the greens were phenomenal. Only thing that lets it down slightly is the condition of the bunkers, but at the price it’s 100% worth it and no complaints.
Beautiful
Really enjoyed it around this stunning place. The greens were perfect considering how much rain we have had over the last month. It's a tricky course but great fun to play around. Really looking forward to playing when summer comes. Loved it thank you
Long challenge but great design
Played when course was damp but very playable. Extremely long playing off the pins , so great design and layout . Hope to return and play during summer months for comparison
Great course and layout
Super friendly and helpful staff. Loved the course layout and condition of greens, fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes were excellent. One negative was the greens had been sanded a week before so that wasn’t ideal but understand this is a necessary part of golf course maintenance. Also with a rate of 30 GPS the value was great even with the greens still super soft and sanded. (They didn’t roll terribly either). Course is long but forgiving with some great designed holes. Also they have a nice bar and the cappuccinos we had at the turn were excellent. Finally played as twosome teed off at 7:45 finished in 3:30 which included times when we drove up to look at blind shots because nobody else was around. Great time
Excellent layout hampered by poor bunkers and poor greens
This course was a strange one. As we pulled up we thought we were in for a real treat. We got a very friendly welcome. The course looked fantastic from the car park.
I played from the 151 tees, which apparently is the 3rd hardest rated course in England. It was a lot of fun, but I didn’t think it was that difficult. Perhaps I just had a good day but I feel the rating belies the difficulty.
The bunkers were terrible. About 50% of them were GUR and the rest were filled with compacted builder’s sand. Really quite poor.
The greens were also bad. Inconsistent pace, uncut and bobbly. I could forgive the bunkers if the greens were good but together it soured the round a little bit.
Despite this, the layout of the course is fantastic. With a little TLC on the bunkers and greens I wouldn’t hesitate to return here. The staff were also great and a credit to the club.
I’d recommend playing here, but get on the twilight rates. If I’d paid full price I’d have been a little upset.
Amazing course for a fair price.
We had a slight delay waiting for the must to clear, but once it did we fully enjoyed the experience. The course is fantastic - great layout, beautiful greens, and well kept fairways which were a dream to strike the ball off.
All in all, the staff in the shop were great, the game was thoroughly enjoyed, and it was all polished off perfectly with a very friendly and welcoming experience by the female bar and food staff. Drinks and standard of food were exceptional. Definitely going again.
A unique test!
We played this course on a Saturday afternoon, paying £30pp. The course is a very tough test, with lots of hazards throughout and some lengthy holes. The greens also give you plenty to think about and miss the first cut of rough and often you will lose your ball!
We played in challenging windy conditions and were very pleased we used buggies as there are some long walks between greens and tees!
This is a tough test for all levels of golfer. The course is very unique compared to what you will usually play in the Midlands. The bunkers were in a terrible condition - this really needs sorting. The par 3s are challenging and give you plenty to think about.
We enjoyed a different test of golf and thought the greens were in mint condition. In general the course was in good nick but imagine it can get very wet in winter!
Stunning value for money
I can’t believe this jewel of Cheshire was just £35 on GolfNow! The course was interesting, challenging and immaculate. I plan to come back soon.
Great course and friendly staff
I played the is course and it was in immaculate condition and had excellent facilities from the club shop, bar, changing rooms and warm up areas.
The staff in the club shop were friendly, as were the staff in the bar and the food (bacon baguette) was very nice.
Would highly recommend.
