Shocking
I travelled all the way over from Doncaster to play and there was only 15 holes open with 14 of those was not on proper summer greens (2 were winter holes)The rest was temps. The course in my opinion should not be open to visitors in this condition and if I wasnt a golfpass member this would have cost me £25.Note to anyone playing here in winter time ring up for course conditions before booking.
Quality
Played with a friend who had just moved to the area- both been members at oher courses previously.
Staff were great, pro and memvers sociable- course was lovely and quiet for a bank holiday.
Temporary greens
Played the course the week before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately on this occasion the greenkeepers were working on numerous greens and therefore only placed the flags on the fairways before the greens which was hopeless. Should have been told by the pro but wasn't. Wouldn't have played if had been informed. Wasn't worth the money
Good course
Played the course for the first time using a free round of golf code I received from American Golf. There’s 2 courses here a summer and a shorter winter course. Played the winter one. Course was in decent condition despite the wet weather we have had but most of the greens had work carried out on them which made putting difficult, but necessary work, the greens with no work were really good. 2 temp greens which were unplayable due to the length of the grass on them. The layout was ok but it really helped when I joined up with a member on the 4th tee otherwise I may have got lost! Would recommend playing here. Didn’t go in the clubhouse so can’t comment on that.
Varying course, with mature and fairly new holes
This course is in good condition currently, compared with the previous times I have played it. Good hole variety - another par 3 and par 5 would enhance it, but overall it is well worth a visit.
Great course
One of the most varied and interesting courses I have ever played.
Nice course, could do with better signage to next hole, some long walks to next tee
Jon
Great course in excellent condition the members couldn't have been more friendly and the staff in the pro shop and bar were very approachable all in all a very good day would advise it to anybody
Great course for the money
We played the course as a 3 ball and our handicaps are 18, 23 & 24.
It is a long course with plenty of challenging par 4's & a few holes with quite intimidating tee shots.
The course is fairly undulating & has an abundance of ditches & this is where I have a criticism as the club no longer produces / sells a stroke saver. This would be a godsend for all the blind shots of which there are many & I strongly disagree with the pro shops answer which was "there is no longer a call for them as everyone has gone electronic". The condition of the course was excellent and I enjoyed my round.
Good course
Course was in good condition and greens were fine and will get even better as we get more summer weather. Good balance of 'short' and 'long' par 4s and interesting par 3s.
Great setting - enjoy the walk even if your golf is below par
Great Condition &a excellent value
Dore & Totley is playing incredibly well at the minute with the fairways in great shape and the greens rock hard!
A good mix of holes and generally forgiving - great for all standard of golfers.
Looking forward to playing again soon.
Excellent condition
Course was in excellent condition for time of year and compared to some i usually play at. Would recommend
Please note if this gentleman had made his booking with the golf club we would have made him aware of course conditions but he went through a third party who are just after your money.
