First time
Very enjoyable course, fairways in good order despite long dry conditions. Good tee areas and although the greens didn’t look the best they were true and fast. Would definitely recommend it.
Dudsbury
Greens has just been sanded which meant the speed was a little slow.
Some fairways were a little sparse and missed some care and attention.
Course not as good as the last time i played there.
Clubhouse facilities were good and the staff very friendly.
Worth playing if you’re haven’t done already
Needs work
Could not fault the staff, very helpful. Booked a single tee time, Golfnow had matched me with a 2 ball which was excellent, two lads very good company on the way round. As for the course it looked very tired and needs a lot of work to bring it back up to a standard where you would feel that you are getting value for your money. Greens where slow and the fairways in a lot of places looked like what you would expect to see between the goalmouth on a Sunday morning between the sticks.
Great challenge
It was damp most of the afternoon, but Dudsbury is a good challenge and was in good condition. Good variety of holes and a decent length at 6,600 yards off white tees. Tee areas are the most disappointing feature.
What happened to it?
Played a few days ago, first time in a few years. Been looking forward to getting a round in here again however the course looks as though it hasn't been looked after in the 7 years since I was last here. The greens were immaculate however that's it. Most of the tee boxes were uneven, full of divots and poorly maintained. The fairways looked more like Sunday league goal mouth than a former award winning golf course. There were huge areas where the grass used to be, underneath the ground was cracked and rutted and made for a very unrewarding round. Considering the price this course is a terrible value, most holiday park pitch and putts will be in better condition than this. Save your time and and money and go elsewhere.
Golf
A very good course and it's in a very good condition. The greens are great, there is a lot of lakes and streams to avoid. Also there are many wild fowl which add to the course.
Dudsbury
The course was in excellent condition having just held a Europro tour event. The greens were true and held a ball well. The fairways were well defined and the rough was not to bad if a ball went into the first cut.
The clubhouse facilities are very good and the food is great value for money and has a good selection to choose from. The staff are very pleasant and the food was delivered to the table fairly promptly from the order time.
If you have not played this course it is well worth the visit and you would not be disappointed no matter what handicap you have.
winter
winter conditions are challenging with the course being so wet after a long wet spell.
Great Value
Excellent course for all handicaps. First 6 holes were in excellent condition but fairways on the remaining holes were showing signs of wear. Pro shop staff were superb, helpful and very friendly. Other players on the course were considerate. Excellent and roomy club house.
difficult course but playable for all.
Good layout , course a bit wet in places but no real problem with that. Very good greens.
Some bunkers short of sand and that was weakest point of course.
Staff extremely helpful and friendly in pro shop and clubhouse. Will play again in summer to see difference.
Nice quality course
We're behind a couple of four balls so a little bit slow but that can happen anywhere. Greens very good for January most of the fairways pretty dry. All in all at £18.50 good value
A bit of a let down
This was my first time playing this course. I was quite excited as I had been wanting to play here for some time. When arriving at the club the pro shop cheerfully told me that frost greens were in play (at midday in the bright sunshine) and once it had been declared it was in place for the whole day. They also said the temporary greens were ‘not good’ an understatement to say the least, several being in deeply muddy areas making the hope of any kind of putt an impossibility. Whilst playIng I had a look at the greens and there was not a speck of frost anywhere, nor were they excessively moist. Given the quality of the club I would have expected better. Modern green keeping techniques being more than capable of playing through temperatures that have not even reached zero, something that smaller less affluent clubs in the area seem to manage with no problems. Sadly I do not think I will be playing here again for some time. If you do book here I would check the weather closely beforehand as you might have an unpleasant surprise on the day.
Always a great day's golf
Challenging, but never too frustrating. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course and highly recommended.
Great corse
Love this course, always a challenge and always in great condition.
Windy and challenging
Course in excellent condition and delighted to get a Saturday tee time as a visitor. Restaurant was over-burdened with a table of 16 at 7.30pm which was a shame.
Beautiful Course
A friend and I played Dudsbury earlier this week for the first time. We were both thoroughly impressed with the course conditions and layout. It's a challenging course without being impossible for higher handicap golfers. The fairways are generous in size but there are plenty of elevation changes and the greens are fast, meaning that you have to think about each shot carefully.
I would definitely recommend Dudsbury to any friends and family and would rate it as one of the best courses I've played in the Bournemouth area.
