Only Good Golfers Can Hack Duxbury Park GC

Duxbury Park Golf Course is just over 40 years of age, young for a golf course however it has established itself as an outstanding test of golfing ability.

The course layout is second to none with its winding tree lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. An incredibly attractive parkland golf course all year round.

The course condition varies throughout the year dependant on beyond control factors such as the weather in the same way all golf courses are effected however I have always been happy with the course conditions regardless as to the time of year played. I have witnessed a great progress in the condition of the course over the last ten years with the drainage greatly improved with the greens achieving a level of consistency in speed and with the ball staying true to its line.

Due to the popularity of the course it can at peak times become a trifle busy however golf is not a race and I would suggest planning your visit to take advantage of the less popular off peak times when preferred tee times are more easily booked.

The club house is of a contemporary design which makes for a great space in which to enjoy a post round meal and drink. The food and drink is of a high quality and offered at a good price. Service by the friendly staff is also excellent.

I strongly recommend a visit to Duxbury Park GC when you can make an informed judgement as to this wonderful golf course. I promise you will return such is it’s quality.

Busy but nice!

Played at 2:08 and due to how busy it was we had to wait on every single tee along with groups in front. Took over 2 and a half hours to do the front 9. Apart from the slow play the course was in a decent state, greens were pretty good. No other complaints, good value for money

The fairways and greens were in a poor condition

Reception staff on arrival to the course were great, and it was pretty obvious that a great deal of money had been spent on the building to bring it up to date.
The course was a let down in particular the greens, they were battered and badly damaged in large areas on nearly all of them. Not what I remembered from when we last played some years ago.
The bar staff were efficient when we first entered the nineteenth without being friendly and when I went to get a second round of drinks for our party (3) the staff carried on attending to other duties around the bar area and totally ignored the fact i was standing at the bar and they had seen me!
Sorry for this review but i needed to say how i felt.

To expensive compared to others in area

Not played this course for a few years. Very under par course. Expensive on comparision t9 Shaw hill.

Greens on front 9 are really poor. Booked a 7.44 tee time as all was empty on early review. Turned up amd had to wait behind a 5 ball. People do as they please and dont even play.

Shame as the layout would be great. Avoid and play shaw hill or Leyland.

Duxbury park

Played Sunday 24/11/19, it had been raining the day before and we were expecting a bit of a quagmire. I’m happy to say that the course was in great condition with the greens being true and fast. Definitely a golf course that we will return to again and again. Well done Duxbury!

Course was in average condition and the greens very bobbley in places which affected putting! The grass on the tee boxes was long and not very well maintained. The course was fairly priced for what you got.

Over booked

Really nice course but over booked.
We were booked for 3.20 and when we got to the first tee there was one 2 ball just out and a 3 ball waiting a a single after that- it was a 40 minute wait and a wait on every tee.It took 4 hr 10 minutes to reach the 14 th and by this time we had had enough.
So missed out on 4 holes not good value

Perfect weather

Return to DUX.

A few years sinc e I played this course. The layout has always been great and should not be changed. In a few places the Course needed to be 'Tidied up' Dead wood removed etc; but the weather has not been kind and I can see the course looking really good next Spring.

Too many booked on course

Slow is an understatement, I've never seen a course so busy it was ridiculous. Three deep at every tee, it wasn't a pleasurable experience. Shame because it's a decent course but I won't be going again.

Good course hard rough.

This course was a nice morning out. The fairways were good and the greens fair. The rough was very long and it seemed with the daisies and buttercups we were losing balls left right and centre. Maybe staying on the fairways would have helped. Playing speeds were good and we neither felt rushed or held up. All in all a pleasant experience.

Cheap and cheerful

Not in the best condition but this was mainly due the greens having just been tinned (unavoidable I know) and the fairways being very long.

Still it's a cracking layout

Very good value for money.

Course over booked! Not satisfactory!

The course was obviously over booked, which was evident in the delay in tee times of 20 minutes or more. This spoils golfers enjoyment and is why i am writting this poor review. 5.20 for round is way above average!

A little disappointed

Having played the course previously I was disappointed with the course condition, particularly the greens which had been spiked but not top dressed so were very bumpy and bobbly. Just looked a little rough round the edges and in need of some TLC

Nice course in good condition

A well laid out course with picturesque, interesting holes. Some slow players were the only drawback.
