Finchley Golf Club

Enjoyable round at Finchley. Staff were friendly and the course was in great condition.

This course did not have any ‘dramatic’ scenery. It’s good because it’s just half hour from central london but it’s not to die for or a must see one. It did the job though. So to be fair I may go again but I’m not dyeing to go back. The indications to the holes were really poor! Couldn’t find my way around it. Really really few signs and the ones available were confusing ones!

This is without doubt a very good course. It has a lovely clubhouse and refreshed pro shop. I found the members friendly and staff helpful. The course is challenging, yet fair with some interesting holes and a good, varied selection of challenges. The greens are especially good.

I play numerous courses and this one was in worst condition I have ever seen . Also so badly marked up for next hole .

Quite easily one of the best courses in the area.
Great test for every golfer, with exceptional greens all year round. Highly recommended!

Couldn’t ask for anything more from this place... can’t wait to go back

First time playing the course and I found there were several obstacles to make most of the holes more challenging than they might seem initially. Bunkers strategically placed, some hedges or tree lines that punished an errant drive and relatively fast, undulating greens that challenged the putting.
Now that I know I need to play the course again.

Greens were EXTREMELY TORTUROUS... I may have had a off day when I played this course but none the less...

The heatwave has taken its toll on some of the fairways and aprons but greens were in great nick. Fast and true. And playing it was fast work with little traffic in front. Great clubhouse for a drink after too . Highly recommended.

Played this course for the first time today. Was impressed with the condition of the course. Greens were very true and beautifully cut. Because of the dry summer the fairways were burnt however there was still grass growing in places so no negatives. I would recommend the course to anyone who likes a nice gentle not too testing round. Speed of play was good our 2-ball was completed in 3hrs 15 mins. Would certainly play here again. One of the best inner city courses I have come across.

Tees and greens too close together on virtually every hole. Frequently waiting for someone to putt out or tee off whilst playing another hole. Greens are excellent but not sufficient to compensate for the layout. Wanted to finish off with a couple of drinks as usual, especially after a hot day but bar staff were not interested in serving so we left. Lost custom for the club and we will not be rushing back. The welcome from the Pro was good though.

Great parkland course. Not massively long but with fast, true greens a proper test. In great nick and with a very welcoming pro shop. Excellent vfm.

At first the man in the pro shop sold me a tee time. Twenty minutes later he told me that I can't use my trolley and my trousers are not good enough for their caurse and I can't go on. I understand the club rules are very strict despite mud and caurse conditions. But he could not sell me the teetime and could tell me that before take money.
