Friendly Flixton
I absolutely understand why they call this club “Friendly Flixton”; everyone we came across was lovely, golfers and staff.
Course was in excellent shape for given it’s winter and has some challenging holes. Enjoyed 9, had a pint and then enjoyed the back nine - great value for money!
Winter!!
I've played in autumn and winter now and funny enough I played better in winter
First time and wet
Course was good and challenging on some holes, a few temporary greens in place which were very muddy. Wet weather got the better of the course, making it muddy in places. 9 holes played twice, so some confusion over priority for teeing off second time round and signage was a little confusing. Will play again in better conditions
9 holes twice round
Very busy - unclear when Teri g iff second time round who has the lead.
Played in autumn
The course considering all the rain was in good condition some greens were on winter greens expected great park style course and was surprisingly dry would recommend to anyone not taking the game to seriously
Flixton golf course
Poor winter greens and heavy leave litter , holes not in play non of which are mentioned when booking.
Great course in the summer.
Just gets better and better
Last played this course 20 years ago and although it’s celebrating its 125th Anniversary, the difference is striking. Lots of mature trees, immaculate fairways and fantastic greens throughout the course now, it’s really blossomed
It’s a tough track that really rewards accuracy as the greens are all quite small and well protected. However it is long, claiming to be the longest 9 hole course in England. The new gold tees are a great idea and add a new dimension to the course. It’s flat apart from what appears to be the remains of a levee, which adds further interest.
You’ll do well to play to your handicap.
Super friendly staff throughout the place and the new balcony is fabulous on a sunny day.
Brilliant value for money and ideal if you just want a quick 9.
Superb Greens
Played this course for the 1st time and had the course to ourselves. Before booking I was not aware that there are only 9 greens played from 18 different tees, so I was a little disappointed with the layout, but it was in great condition and the greens were superb.
