Great bang for your buck

Played at 5pm on a very warm and humid bank holiday Monday in May. Plenty of greens have 2 tiers, which added a degree of skill required to get the ball close to the pins. Front 9 is on the lower ground and starts with 4 good strong holes, before the mighty uphill par 3 5th. A driveable short par 4 follows to give a chance of clawing a point or two back. From there the course flattens out to the 14th, and is played in some lovely mature parkland. Look out for plenty of light aircraft overhead, from nearby Denham airfield. Greens are always good and of decent pace. The finish at GX is great; the long straight par 4 15th requires 2 good solid shots. The 16th is a beautiful downhill par 3 that would not look out of place at Woburn. 17 is a short par 4 but with a tricky green, and then the super 18th requires a drawn tee shot around trees, to a downsloped fairway, and then a mid iron over the river Misbourne, in front of the watching terrace. Super shower facilities and clubhouse.

This course has a great layout

Great day out at Gerrards Cross GC. A welcoming and friendly reception was received, followed by a fabulous afternoon of golf. The course is in good condition with the highlight being the last three holes - absolutely stunning. In house the staff were very accommodating and the outside patio area a great place to relax after the round. Thoroughly recommend the course.
