Lovely Course
Other than the standard of my golf, I really enjoyed this course. We tee'd off at 06:45, none of the amenities were open so I cant comment on those. Course cards were available to take from an outside collection point.
We found it really easy to navigate around the course due to new signage. The holes do criss-cross a little in places but each hole had a hole plan board which helped to determine where to go.
All in all the course was in great condition and presented a really good golfing challenge.
No staff to be seen
Arrived at the course and everything was closed up.
No scorecards, no access to toilets.
Course was nice, fairway grass a bit long but for the time of year I can accept.
One hole was closed so meant we played 16 holes as it’s a 9 hole course.
6.5/10
Description doesn’t mention 9 hole course
This is a 9 hole course…not 18!
there is no mention of this in the description.
2 holes are different when you play the back 9 but the rest are just the front 9 played again.
Overall the course was in decent nik.
Few challenging holes to say the least
Great as ever
Played here a dozen times or more, always a nice knock. If it’s your 1st time be aware of the 8th and 9th as they are a little bit misleading. Couple of really nice par 3,s especially the 3rd/12th
Great course, great condition, awful lady captain
Having played this course on Sunday morning I actually felt compelled to email the golf club themselves regarding an incident that occurred whilst out on the course.
Firstly, I feel it is important to say that the course was in excellent condition and was a good test for myself and my playing partners. Unlike some 9 hole courses this has different tee locations, but on some holes you also play to different greens which is a nice additional.
We completed our first loop of 9 in around 1:30 and were making great time. However, on the 12th we were approached by a lady who introduced herself as the lady captain. She accused myself and my group of not paying as it was on her BRS (?) system and accused of us of playing as a 5 ball as we had let a one ball through on the tee and wandered down with him as it’s a short par 3. After showing her our GolfNow booking and receipt of payment she scolded us for not followed the proper etiquette of golf as 4balls have priority, something I’m sure the one ball would have enjoyed as he’d have spent the next 3 and a half hours waiting on every tee block with us as that is how long it took to complete the remaining 5 holes.
The lady captain approached our group on a later hole to make us aware the reason she wasn’t letting us through was due to the fact she didn’t believe we’d paid, something I don’t understand but nevertheless it is safe to say that it somewhat dulled our appetite to return.
It is a real shame as as mentioned the course was great and up until that point it had been a very enjoyable round. Maybe I am being overly critical as in all likelihood it is unlikely we would end up behind her again, but it was that bad I wouldn’t even want to take the chance.
Very Hidden and not quite a Gem!
I should probably have trawled more reviews before I chose to play here. The course itself was fine and relatively interesting albeit a little difficult to navigate from green to tee in some places. What was bad was the lack of any amenities whatsoever - apparently the people who manage the golf course don't get there until after 12. (this may just be on a Sunday though). No scorecard available. No access to toilet for a number two (luckily it went off me!).It seems that everyone playing in the morning was from Golf Now so perhaps people who didn't know the course - hence the slow pace of play.
No score card available
Everything was fine apart from not having access to locker room for a score cars.
Hidden gem
Cracking little course, tricky and tight in parts and very picturesque in others.
Members and staff were warm and friendly to visitors .
We will definitely return
Great 9 holer
Played Greenmount 8 times and enjoyed it every time. The 1st couple of times we played it, we were a little confused with the layout but this has been addressed with clear signage. Its always in great condition even during the winter months. It’s certainly a course which I will keep returning to…. Keep up the good work
Tee time was 09.15. No one was working when I arrived to book on or get cards etc. Winter greens being used but course was very confusing ending in me missing holes.
Terrible confusing layout
My main gripe with this golf course is the layout , didn't have a clue where we was going kept getting different info from people on the course on where to go ended playing down holes that were closed and to the wrong greens because of the lack of information and direction on the course , I completed 9 holes and gave up , the condition of the course was ok summer greens were ok but the winter greens were shocking. Round only cost is £8 but I just feel like I wasted my morning I wouldn't play it again.
Winter isn’t worth it. Summer great.
Scored this based on today. In the summer the course is great but if this is the winter scenario then winter is a waste of time. Every hole is winter tee and winter green. From what we could see this morning could only find 8/9 holes. No markings to let you know, especially the 7th as that hole is not in use and tee is in a different place. Have played in summer and it’s a great little course well worth a visit but in the winter from November onwards I’d say save your money or go else where
If only I lived closer
From tee to green its a lovely course. If I lived closer I would become a member. 16 pound on golf now hot deal on a Sunday morning. Good pint after. Will be playing again soon
Great unexpected course
The course was in great condition throughout. Lovely fairways quick true greens. Although only 9 holes there were a number that had alternate greens as well as tees.
The 12th is signature but very difficult par 3.
First time playing but we will be back again. Amazingly we played on a Sunday morning and there was hardly anyone on the course.
A great day of golf
