Complicated layout of tough holes

Greenmount have done well to shoehorn an 18 hole course into a 9 hole course but I found the layout confusing and on a busier day can imagine having to queue to tee off on shared holes. It’s a nice enough course but some VERY difficult holes. The 12th is ridiculous. 185yards through a tiny gap in trees to a low down green.
Glad to have played it but won’t be rushing back.

Great little 9 holer

Played here 3 times now and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed it. We arnt the biggest of hitters so this course suits us just fine. All the par 4,s are reachable in 2 and the par 5s are reachable in 3, enabling us to put in a decent round. The staff and officials were really friendly and the bar more than adequate. We’ll certainly be back!

Amazing value

Really well maintained golf course, couldn't fault it. For a Sunday it was really quiet too, no one behind us all day. Will definitely be booking again

Millionaires golf

What a cracking 9 holer. Probably the best 9 holer I've ever played. Nice fairways and semi rough. No silly deep rough. Greens were superb. We played on a day after heavy rain and not a puddle in sight. Clubhouse was shut when we finished but we did finish at 11am so maybe it opens at 12. Course was empty so 3 hours no problem. Will be back soon

Nice little set up

Was early for our tee time so there was no one else around and clubhouse was closed (9am)
No scorecards available so we just winged it down first until we found 2 greens one white one blue
Played white as we saw obviously a member in front playing white greens
2 really nice par 3s followed with water below an elevated tee tricky to judge
Got to 7th no mat on tee and no flag on green but no sign explaining why so played it anyway
This was £9 on hot deals it took an hour in December so ideal to blow cobwebs off

Enjoyable challenging 9 hole course

The only negative I can give the course is the fact we had no map and the course is a bit confusing to navigate round. Other than that it was really enjoyable and a challenging tight course. Would definitely I rely recommend to play this if you get chance.

Appalling condition of course

This course should be shut for the winter period. Accept winter Tees and greens but the course was just a quagmire, ankle deep in mud on every hole. Some holes closed so the printed map did not reflect the layout. No signage to next hole. The fairways were the same as the rough. Should close the course and turn it back into farm land.

Greenmount

No greens where in play, no notes telling you this on website, make shift greens made and putting was as you can expect putting in the rough. Not really much signage around, no reception actually open to speak to anyone or get score card, no toilet had to pee in bush, safe to say won’t be going back anytime soon, may try in summer because bet it’s belting 9 holer when dry n all greens are open

Decent course

Difficult to give a fair review as conditions where poor. One minor complaint no staff on site so no scorecard. The course looks like it would be perfect on a summers day. Overall it was a good round of golf, especially for the price

Quite hill, but enjoyable.

Got mixed up with a couple of the holes and where the next tee was due to the layout.
Didn’t have much interaction with staff other than a coffee half way round.
Course was great, a few holes to really challenge your game and the surface was superb, second to none.

Hidden Gem

I’ll be honest.

I’ve played golf around Manchester for 30 years and I’ve never met members of a golf club this friendly.
I’ve been a member of 4 different clubs and played all other the north west. No other club comes close.
I’ve never heard of greenmount until recent. I like trying new courses so arranged a four ball.
The course was immaculate.. Fairways were just lovely. If I had to nit pick, there was one tee block with no grass, but it was flat so for me it didn’t matter. That was the only thing I could even think of.
The lay out for being my first time was strange This is where members really helped us out. Didn’t even know it was a 9 hole course until we turned up. In saying that though only a handful of holes play the same. I said strange because some holes have two fairways and 2 greens which was nice, so it felt a lot different on the back 9.
If you haven’t played it, I recommend it to anyone. I’m a 5 handicap but enjoyed the challenge. Stay straight and your good like any course.
Since I now know the lay out I’ll be returning just to enjoy the greens. Ran so true with good pace.
Again the members were an absolute credit. I’m not one for writing reviews but thought it deserved one. Thank you for the warm welcome greenmount.

Hidden Gem

Great wee 9 hole course on edge of Ramsbottom. Played as 18 with a few different tee off and greens. Slight confusion on occasions regarding directions from green to tee but first time playing any course this occurs. A few crossover holes and also Tee offs over greens which I'm not a fan of. Greens in great condition considering the recent rain, look forward to playing on a sunny day. Shot 90 with only 2 lost balls !
Only met 1 staff member but friendly people. For sure i will go round again. Great deal on GolfNow.

Worst Golf course I’ve ever played

The course was on winter greens,! we wasn’t told this at the time of booking, the course wasn’t man so no score card and no course map?
The course was very muddy, the temp greens where like a muddy bath. Not worth £20 very disappointed.
