Hidden Gem
What a lovely course. Have to plot your way around to avoid the natural challenges the course offers. Can see all of the hard work by the green staff is paying off. Well maintained! A great parkland challenge. Really friendly head pro who was happy to chat. 5/5
Great course for beginners
I’ve only been playing golf for 6 weeks or so, and this is by far one of the best courses I’ve played on. Not only were the fairways and greens in top condition, but the course was really friendly for beginner golfers. It’s has a good mix of long and short holes with very few challenging holes with hazards. It’s also extremely flat which is a bonus when carrying your bag! I’d highly recommend and would definitely go back.
What a gem!
I have to agree with a number of previously posted reviews that I saw before I booked. Really well maintained, tees, fairways and greens. Many greens have interesting shapes and sizes. Relatively forgiving for slightly wayward tee shots, but that will not make this an easy course for most that take it on, with a selection of pars 3,4 and 5. All those associated with the club, who I spoke with, could not have been more welcoming and courteous. I will certainly be coming back to enjoy this challenge again. Only reason for not giving 5 stars throughout was that some of the greens/fairways were a little damp (no standing water) but that might be down to the fairly early tee time and some over night rain. It is Manchester after all!
BLOWN AWAY
Played Heaton Moore for the first time this morning and what a place.
The members and other golfers are amazingly friendly and so are the staff.
Great stiocked shop and facilities
Plus I shot my llowest score to date here
Ifbyou are in the area give it a go you won't be disappointed
My only negative is a it maybe needs a couple of next tee this way signs especially from 9th - 10th as the tree trunk has grown over it
And maybe a sighting post over the bushes on the 15th as you can't see anything from the tee box although the hole maps on each hole are great
I will be back thankyou very much

Enjoyable despite the deluge!
Just 7 miles from home and yet we'd never heard of it, Heaton Moor turned out to be a little gem of a course. Although it rained hard at times, and there was standing water on some greens, they remained playable throughout. Premium on accuracy rather than length, pretty flat but still with interesting and challenging holes. What could be described as a course which suits the more mature player, but what's wrong with that?!
Can't really comment on off course elements given Covid issues, but we plan to return on a more sunny day when we can better appreciate the whole package.
Played Heaton
Played Heaton again after appearing there many years ago with a golf society. All the staff and members were polite and helpful. The course was in good condition even tho the greens had recently been hollow timed.Overall a good experience.
Heaton moor gc
Good course , enjoyed it even tho the greens had recently been prepped and readied for winter
Great course
Great course friendly staff and members, great stocked shop and a great course will be coming back
Horrible place
Straight away a feeling of being unwanted, staff are extremely rude. I played 3 holes where the local bunch of youths were sat round the green shouting stuff at golfers. Staff did not seem to be bothered by it and did nothing. I asked the pro in the shop for some advice to which I was greeted by a blunt reply. If your face isnt known around there then dont expect a warm welcome.
Really friendly
Played for the first time here. Really friendly Club and good conditions for the time of year/recent weather - will definitely return
Great course
Top class
Course in great shape. Friendly staff overall a little gem. I will definitely be back.
Course in good nick
Good round, course in great condition, greens fast. Friendly staff and members.
Good course
Had an enjoyable round even though my golf was bobbins. The course is in nice condition especially the greens, the fastest I’ve played recently. Recommended.
Great Course
Soggy December day but enjoyable course with greens in surprisingly good condition. Looking forward to returning when drier weather arrives.
Parakeets
Not only a lovely course but they have 24 wild parakeets.. Course and greens in really good nick. Really friendly members and pro. Great park course. Some of the par 4s are very long but really enjoyed playing there.
We also had a pheasant on the course last week!!
Thank you for taking the time to write your review and do come back soon to play golf with us and see the pheasant.
Great value
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good layout of the course and after this year strange weather the best fairways we have played on all year. Very nice course to play.
Good condition
Course in good condition after a few rainy days. Managed to meet most of the trees on the course with wayward hits but an enjoyable round.
Return
After a 40 year break went back to Heaton Moor. Lovely parkland course. Front 9 more interesting than back 9. Some very long par 4's on back 9. Course in excellent condition. Nice shelter in greenkeeper's shed during thunder and lightning storm. Really friendly in pro shop. Will ddefinitely go back sooner.
Yes we are all looking forward to the summer as the course is going to be superb. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
