Good for the price!
It is a good course for the price. Understandably a little wet in places - even greens, due to recent weather. Didn't like having to pair up with another pair when booking on line, but luckily they had moved off before we even reached the first tee.
The overall impression of the course to how it was the last time we played the course was that we thought it was 'a little untidy'. 'Not as tidy'.
Found the course a fair challenge some long par 4s for the average golfer . The only down side was the fairways needed a cut they were quite long on some holes .All in all a good course with the hot deal.
Well impressed
Albeit this is only the 3rd time I've played Heyrose and it's rained each round, the course was in immaculate condition considering the weather.
Mad dogs and golfers go out in the midday sun.
We had an excellent round here yesterday in 32c sunshine, having found a good deal on GolfNow for somewhere new to play.
On arrival the club has an excellent feel as you enter down the long driveway and we were made to feel very welcome by the chap in the pro shop and also a pre drink in the bar. Needing new balls though the choice was limited in the shop with only two options for new balls and no cheap second hand balls which as an inaccurate novice I’d usually go for.
Onto the 1st which was a slightly odd looking hole cut off from the rest of the course. Almost felt a bit like a temporary hole in a field. The proximity to the pylon lines was also brought into play as my opening stroke hit one so keep low off the tee. After this though the course opened up into a lovely course with nicely open and forgiving fairways, challenging bunkers and beautifully kept greens that played lightening fast even after rain. The only negatives on course were that the marker posts for each hole were tiny and some you had to work to find, also the signage to the next hole could be improved as a few send you on a walk away from what looks like the closest and correct option. Only small issues though as we really enjoyed the course.
We enjoyed a couple of drinks on the terrace by the 18th after and the chap on the bar was very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely look to play here again soon, although the sheer length of some of the holes means that it would not be the best for my 10 year old as they are quite daunting in distance at times.
Overall a very nice course and a good challenge for a relative novice. Thanks Heyrose.
Top Notch
Driven past many times over the last few years as the course is near my in-laws....and always fancied a round...popped up on GolfNow.....so thought now is the time then!
Wasn’t disappointed, lovely course. Well maintained, challenging however very enjoyable. Some long par fours and those final 2 par fives are a great way to come in!
Highly recommended
Great course and in excellent condition
Played here for the first time and I was so impressed. There are some really challenging holes and particularly long Par 4s and Par 3 on the sixteenth. The ground staff should be commended on their work as the course is in fantastic condition.
I will definitely be back. Thank you
What a hidden gem !!
I have tried to book Heyrose for a society I ran but struggled to get on a Saturday due to comps. 3 friends and I played it yesterday and all of us really enjoyed everything about the course. It seemed we got off just at the right time 8:40am as it started to get busy at the back of us but still didn't see anyone really waiting. I will definitely be looking to play Heyrose soon.
Great condition, good test
Given recent events, we found the course in great condition with greens running consistently and true. Testing in terms of distance, but it's fair and rewards driving the ball into the right places. Obviously didn't really experience the off course aspect, but members we spoke to were friendly. Overall, we will definitely play here again
Nice find
Just of the m56 a nice course with some challenging tight holes mixed with some dog legs where position off the tee is key
Beautiful course with friendly staff
Very impressed with this course. It’s situated in Knutsford with good access from the M6. Staff were friendly and efficient. The course is in outstanding condition, especially the greens which are very fast. There are some very challenging holes, - some Par 4s and one, Par 3, in particular is very long. This course will certainly test you.. If you are not a ‘big hitter’ off the tee, you will struggle.
A lot of credit has to be given to the Head Groundskeeper and his staff because they’ve done a great job in maintaining this course - Well done.
I will be back, without doubt.
Good track, some interesting holes
Really enjoy playing here, great value for money, and a good course to play. Kept in good condition with some interesting holes.
Heyrose
Good course but a bit snobby ,greens in good nick . Keep away from the rough
An improving course
Returning after about seven years and think the course is maturing nicely. There have been some changes to tee positions and some hedges moved. On the day we played the general course was in good condition. The greens were fairly true in the main. Heyrose is back on our circuit so we’ll be back again this year.
Waterpark
Tried this course for the first time yesterday.Should of been closed as it was absolutely wet through,We where hitting middle of fairways to find balls plugged that deep they were almost impossible to find ,then to top it off had the biggest 10 minute downpour imaginable,Came off after 7 holes and don’t think we will be rushing back.
