Pleasant Course
Enjoyable round on a late Friday afternoon, very good value for money at £10 via tee off times.
Nice layout with a wide variety of holes. The fairways are relatively open/forgiving, just as well given the windy conditions which made for a challenging round.
Good value
Booked through ToT for just 10 quid for 18 holes. Course is challenging, particularly as the rough is very deep and easy to lose balls in. Accuracy is the key to this course. Staff were friendly in the clubhouse and even moved my tee off times to suit me better as I arrived early. For the cost of a round I can't fault the course. Yes it's rough around the edges but I have played far worse municipal course. With a bit more tlc from the green keepers this would be an excellent course for all abilities! Will definitely play there again!
Hilltop
Course in good condition, only slight downfall were the greens which were quite hard and a little bumpy.
Happy return
Played this course for first time in over 20 years.
Played with my son, course changed a fair bit since last played and must say for the better. Car park a little bit of a let down but course in great condition, ideal for casual golfer like myself and ideal for elderly golfers looking for a course that is a little for giving for that wayward drive, not too long holes, very enjoyable day out and will certainly be returning a lot sooner than 20 years.
My score 101, son 95.18 holes
Good round of golf course is in good condition
Makes you work for your par, great all round golf course
Great course
Had a very good round the course was very good the ground staff was working hard cutting the grass and keeping the course in very good condition
Ok
Not a bad course .. had to use winter tees which made it a bit of a short course .. would recommend to higher handicaps but even lower players might enjoy for a day out
Interesting course in reasonable condition
The course was fairly dry, but there were some boggy areas. Wide open fairways prevent getting into too much trouble with wayward drives, but the windy conditions made reaching some greens in 2 shots very difficult. There's a good variety of holes and playing straight will reward you with a low score, but avoid the well-placed bunkers because the sand quality is not great. The greens looked rough and putts were a little bobbly, but they were a lot quicker than expected. I will return for another round.
good winter course
No temp greens, lots of bunkering which adds interest, couple of hills but easy walking. Enjoyed my round with the sun shining! Lots of bunkers, but some where poor quality. Good greens for time of year, overall pretty good. Only let down was very slow members putting like its the masters, each with their own penny to mark their ball after every putt...just get on with it when people are waiting!!
Great stuff
Absolutely love this course really is a picture staff are really nice and the course is a real joy to go round greens wasn't the best but that was just down to weather in the summer I no they are superb so all in all just great
Not bad att all
First time playing this course and found it quite enjoyable. Plenty of bunkers to avoid on most holes. Challenging in parts, not least to the long hole lengths. can become repetitive! Would play again.
Value
This is my local course, the great thing about the course is that there are no temps . The greens are in good condition , and the bunkers are raked over all a good test .
good round
The course played really well after thw rain from strom Angus well be back next year
well laid out course
Good course - shame that it located out of sight of general traffic meaning that its not truly used to its deserved capacity
18 holes of varying challenges short - long - up the hill and down hill
Like to play especially like today where the greens were all in excellent condition
Winston"s revenge trying out the new Driver
The weather conditions were good today (12/10/16). The putting greens were ok, if not a little slow. The tees were ok but unmarked so you are not quite sure that you are on the right holes.
The fairways were poorly looked after today - scuffs of grass on fairways not acceptible. The roughs were really rough - just signs that more care and attention are needed on this course which I like.
I bought a new driver and wanted to prove that I could lose 6 or 7 shots off my best - and yes, I did beat my best by 4 shots.
The course managers need to ensure that the holes are properly marked and the fairways are fairways and not semi-rough.
Nice course with some testing holes
Sadly on this occasion the pace of play was extremely slow. I was playing as part of a 3 ball and there were 4 groups in front of us a 3 ball, 2 ball and 2 fourballs. It took over 2:5hrs to play the front 9 it was that slow we ended up replaying the front 9 which we managed in half of the time. Definately need to look at the gap between tee off times.
