Great course, unfriendly members
I was a member here for two years when I first started playing golf. The course is tight, tree-lined and flat but with plenty of challenging hazards; sand, brooks, water. A nice layout, no crossing holes but not always obvious to new eyes. Tee boxes were average, fairways were good and greens played well in summer. The course was rarely closed but occasionally boggy in winter. Pro was keen to get you playing but the course was busy on weekends. Two groups on one tee at peak times. The membership prices were great value, there was even a three day membership. Unfortunately some of the members were quite aggressive. Confrontations on the first tee and the course were the least of it, fights in the bar the worst. This encouraged me to move on. Great course when played off-peak, would recommend.
Good round
I really enjoyed playing at Houldsworth a nice variety of holes and different layout. Very friendly staff too
Great Solid Overall Course In The Rain
Very Good Course, Hammered It Down But Still Managed A Solid 18 holes
Fantastic course
First time playing and was very impressed, with a lot of local courses effected by the recent bad weather houldsworth didn't have one temporary green and the course was fantastic even with the wet conditions. Staff were great and local members were very helpful and friendly. Will be playing again soon.
First time
An enjoyable round friendly staff and course in good nick for early April. I would play again
Houldsworth gc
A brilliant day at Houldsworth gc ist class course if it was'nt for the greens being tyned i would give our day 10 out if 10 Highly recommended made us feel well from booking in to going home deffo play again ...
First Spring golf round
Not played here before. Was nicely surprised by the beautiful course. Really well kept. Friendly staff in the pro shop and in main building. Nice mix of challenging holes and felt no pressure from other golfers. All together a really nice location and course. Just wish I could have played as well as the course was set out in great condition and will definitely be returning soon to play full course as winter tees still being used.
Ok Course
Course was ok for the time of year. Greens pretty slow but not in too bad nick.
Tee boxes were terrible but it's only Feb and obviously temporary.
Holes can be quiet close together and there's a fair few "FOUR" shouts during a round.
Not too challenging but its alright for the price. I'd play there again.
Very nice course
Reasonable price and a good test. Course is always in decent condition. Very good value
A little damp when we played but you can see on a better day the course would be better , some great looking holes , only negative tees a bit scruffy , but would recommend giving it a shot
Little Gem
Little hidden gem of a course in what essentially is a residential area, you wouldn't even know it was there. Not hard, but not easy either, nice and flat!!!
Houldsworth Golf Club
There had been very heavy rain which only stopped as we teed off. The course in winter requires players to play off mats on the fairway or play off the rough. The course was very wet but that is not the fault of the club. In normal weather conditions it would be a lovely course to play. There is a very impressive clubhouse. The Club Pro was very friendly and approachable. Certainly reccommeded.
Weekend break
We wanted something in and around Didsbury, not too expensive and easy walking - Houldsworth fitted the bill well. Very quite and very friendly.
