Lovely course
As always a nice course with very friendly staff, all courses are busy at the moment so yes it was a bit slow
Lovely West Country course.
One of my favourite courses in the southwest. I play off 18 and is a great mixture of forgiving and punitive. The staff were great and Josh in the pro-shop sorted us a buggy last minute.
My only compliant was nothing to do with the club, a belligerently slow couple hacking around, that would not let anyone through.
Average
Found the course in good condition, however it was just a bit boring. Felt crammed in and pretty unadventurous in design. Good value for money, but wouldn’t return
Wedmore in the winter
With most of the other courses in the area shut because of the weather we booked a four ball via Golf Now and hoped for the best. Having had a full day of rain the day before and seeing the rivers bursting their banks we didn’t have high expectations. Well I have to say we were pleasantly surprised how well the ground has coped with the rain, yes it was wet in places but there were no temporary greens and where the fairways were important the ground was good. The greens were in fantastic condition and the views from almost every hole were stunning, all in all a very enjoyable day was had by all. There was no entry to the club house but that also looked to be very well maintained, so I’ve given every category top marks in this review because the people working at Wedmore are certainly putting in some effort and they deserve to be supported.
Great all round
Always friendly staff at This course from meeting you in the pro shop to serving you after your round. The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain we’ve had lately, but the greens were top notch throughout. Highly recommended.
Reasonably level course with good views to the Mendips
First impression was how nice the approach drive is to a smart clubhouse. Next was how lush the course was with well defined first/second/rough cuts.
The conditions were remarkably good given the days of heavy rain we've just had. In fact the course was closed 3 days ago.
Some water hazards but they oughtn't to be a problem. Greens proved to be fast and true also.
A number of short par 4s on the first 9 but narrow and needing accuracy. 3 x long par 5's in a row on the back, no.15 being the most tricky.
I was slightly disappointed at only 8 mins. separation of tee times, but noted that it's 10 mins on other days!
All in all an enjoyable outing and I'm very happy to recommend the place. Great value, bought with a monthly GolfPass credit.
Wet But Wort It
Hosed down all round.
Course stood up well.
Enjoyable round again here despite the weather
Perfect
We played the end of September and the condition of the course was excellent, greens were in very good condition and super fast for the time of year.
Made to feel welcome be the Pro shop staff.
Unfortunately we didn’t have time for a beer after.
Many Thanks
Definitely play a round here.
Course well maintained, fairways good with looked after 1st cut and short rough. We'll placed hazards made tee shots interesting and often requiring accuracy over length. Greens well kept and consistent.
Back 9 offered some spectacular views and 3 par 5's in a row that provide a great opportunity to aid the scorecard.
Well maintained course
Tried out for first time and had an excellent visit. Great practice range off mown grass rather than matts which was a plus. Friendly and welcoming pro shop and clubhouse. Very well maintained greens. Relatively tight fairways but most times still had a shot if one drifted onto an adjoining fairway.......Well worth a try and some great views.
Interesting and pleasant course
The first nine holes are fairly straightforward then the second half becomes more challenging with a feature par 3 with beautiful views across the valley and a succession of long and interesting holes. Course was in good condition and overall a good afternoon of golf
A nice find
Played here for the first time, checked in the pro shop a got a warm welcome from the pro told me and my partner we won’t be disappointed and he was not wrong. The course was immaculate tees 9/10.. fairways 10/10 the greens were excellent by a tad slow 10/10 it has a mixture of very short par 4 that are driveable and 3 back to back 500+ par 5s some interesting par3s. I would highly recommend playing this course if you are in the area.. my only grip is I saw a player with a nike collarless t shirt (tennis top) which let the club down... well worth the £30 on weekend
Isle of Wedmore Round
Course in decent nick.
Some challenging holes including back to back par 5s encouraging you to open up the shoulders and let ‘fly’!
Very enjoyable.
This course is great
Second time i have played this course brought along another colleague and he was impressed ,we think its a great course and really maintaned well we have played quite a few courses and this is up there.
Good but extremely slow
The front 9 was so slow we nearly didn’t play the back 9. Fortunately some other groups did just that and the pace picked up, slightly. I’m glad we carried on, the back 9 is much nicer than the front.
ISLE IF WEDMORE
A very pleasant course with some stunning views of the Mendip Hills.
Try and score well on the relatively easy front 9 as the back 9 with 5 consecutive par 5 holes is more testing.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good facilities too.
