Nice course for the price
Only beginner golfer but played a few course now. For the price can't really fault it. Good friendly staff and a good course for me.
Decent but expensive
£20+ for this course I think is a little much, great course for beginner golfers plenty of forgiveness in places and a course you should play at least once.
Dissapointing.
I used to like this course it was £12 and you could have a decent round, I paid £17 yesterday and I don't know where that money is going. The first thing I noticed in the shop was they was selling used golf balls for £1 each and some where range balls. Tee boxes where bone dry. Fairways in good condition but the greens where like putting on an unadopted road. Every putt was a lottery and sometimes even Chipping on; the ball would hit a hole and shoot off in another direction. It's a 17 hole course because I can only describe hole 18 as a blob of mud in the trees. Dissapointed.
Shocking state
I have played here every other week for the last couple of years because of value for money and it was always in decent condition, BUT most recently the state of this course is just SHOCKING, the green keepers need to give their head a wobble!
Okay for £12
Good course for beginners. Greens are better than last time I played but still not great. For £12 not to bad. Will prob play again as it’s nice and steady for after a long day at work. Weekend and more time prob pay extra to go to a better course
good course overall.
Nice for a leisurely round, not to difficult but presents some nice challenges. Glad to see it is still open and kicking even after a close down scare. putting green and warm-up area could do with improvement. but overall for £12 don't think you can complain! will definitely return.
You have been warned!!!
I’ve played this course numerous times over the last few years and for a municipal found it very good, even though a couple of the par 3’s are only about 100 yards in length. The condition of the course is usually excellent, especially the fairways, the greens usually well kept.
I’ve just played it again today and it’s such a shame, the state of this course at the moment. I know the weather has been hot and sunny for a number of weeks but the greens are currently in a shocking state. They are extremely bumpy and a mixture of brown patches and small tufts of grass, putts of any decent length are a complete lottery and it’s worse than putting on winter greens. The practice putting green is even worse, there are a number of large cracks in the surface because it hasn’t been watered in ages (there is no hosepipe ban yet!!).
There are no reduced fees available for this course, it’s £18.00 for an adult on any day of the week, which, considering the current state of the greens, is a disgrace. If you are flexible, regarding when you can play, there are cheaper deals available at some nearby private courses.
Marland
Wide open fairways if you lose a ball it must be a very bad shot. Best kept fairways and the best greens I've played on
Very friendly staff and course in excellent condition. They have planted a lot of new trees which when mature will make the course a lot harder. At the moment it's quite an easy course which suits us as we are only average players
I got my lowest score ever 82 yippee
Not bad
What more do you want for a tenner. Course was in decent condition. Greens had been having some work done but in considerstion of that generally ok. Layout is tough with hard to see holes and yardages difficult to gauge to go along with that. Some run offs and course work that had been done which proved challenging. Overall not bad. But again I come back to its a tenner. Your not going to expect a championship course and for that I think it's decent and a good knock.
