Course in excellent condition and enjoyed playing. Very good
Lovely Round
After the recent lockdown being lifted, it is absolutely brilliant to get back out playing. Despite a slight hold up with groups Infront the round was absolutely excellent with perfect weather conditions. Brilliant round and would thoroughly recommend as well as want to play again!
Great course, just terrible weather
Cants fault the course or staff, we just had bad luck with the weather, made the few groups ahead slow down so was kept waiting.
Not for winter
Greens were incredible but that is probably the only positive I have.
The fairways look In good shape but the recent rain means every ball is hit with some standing water
Off the fairways it's like a farmers field, bring plenty of balls as if you're 1yard offline and not in the fairway it's plugged and near impossible to find, disappointing for the price paid but I guess they can't help the weather
Great Course
Driving into the impressive Marriott Golf & Country club you immediately get a sense of t what you can expect on the course. The modern course layout is a great test of golf with lots of hazards including water, large bunkers protecting greens, and dog legs on many holes to challenge long drivers.
The greens were a little slower than I’ve experienced in the past at the Marriott but they still require a lot of skill due to the underrating slopes that are great fun to play on.
Wet wet wet
Played 2/2/20 for £25. The course is really wet in places and lots of plugged/lost balls. Wouldn’t play again in winter.
£18 for two sausage barms with coffees as well!
Great course
Great course, fairways and greens were great, get what you pay for with the price
Slow Play
From what I played was a nice course, greens in brilliant condition for this time of year. Some nice challenging holes. Pace of play was shocking though. Came off after 10 holes. Shouldn’t be getting caught up behind a group on the 1st hole when they had teed off 16 minutes before you. Took until the 8th hole to let me Play through. Flag in, flag out, waiting for partners to play shots before getting set up. Waiting on tees for people to clear the holes. No ready golf, ruining the game.
Great course, very slow play
Really lovely course with nice staff. Decent price at £20. The only downside was the pace of play was far too slow as some players were taking ages (literally 5 mins) over each shot. It was nice to meet the 3 pairs behind us at each tee but it did get to be a bit of a joke. Felt a bit like queuing for a ride at a theme park. Nobody allowing others to play through.
Fantastic course
On arrival was directed to the starters hut who gave us a good bit of advice on how to play the course, the course was in excellent condition as was the weather this is a really fair course with a mixture of easy playable holes and some difficult holes the snack bar after the 10 hole was a welcome sight, would highly recommend this course a great course would defiantly pay another visit.
tough but fair test of golf
good place to play after we have had some dry weather greens had been tinned but still played reasonable. Staff always friendly and a course for the better players with some excellent feature holes.
One of the best golf courses in the Lancashire
Always enjoyable to play @ Worsley Park.Golf course well maintained and really nice to see some improvements going on.Greens in excellent condition!Friendly staff in the pro shop.
Mint
As is with all hotel courses so well kept, green-keeping, general course condition, tees all immaculate. Comfortably one of the best courses I've played, a wet day meant certain slippery, boggy areas in lowland but overall the drainage is very good, nice little snack bar on the 11th tee.
Only criticism I can think of is the par 5's aren't really driving holes, they dogleg before driver carry range so 4 iron layups about the only option, I suppose it's made like that to be more of challenge though, will be playing again.
Fantastic course
Great condition for the time of year. Few wet spots off the fairways but nothing more than expected for the time of year. Greens were fantastic and ran true.
Will definitely come back!
bogged down by slow play
I had a late tee off time, so on the pro's advice hired a buggy. Played the first 6 holes in 55 minutes, but then ground to a halt alongside two other 2-balls behind a very slow 4-ball. No-one got waved through, and no marshal on hand to remind players of etiquette. Ended up having to walk off in the dark on the 16th tee, having wasted £20 on the buggy (although it did give us somewhere to sit as we waited on tee after tee).
Shame as course was in fair condition despite heavy rain - greens were very good, fairways too, although the rough was immediately very boggy and some of the tees were muddy. Off course facilities very good, but won't be going back in a hurry until I hear the management have got to grips with slow play.
