Course in lovely condition

I don't play Moors Valley course very often, but playing it yesterday made me realise I ought to. The course is in great condition at the moment, the greens are fast but true, the holes are varied and interesting, and it's not an easy course, it takes a bit of thinking to plot your way around.

Me and a friend teed off at half five in the afternoon so by that time the course was almost empty. We only saw one other group out on the course, so pace of play was really down to how quickly we played. The only negative was that the clubhouse was shut by this time in the evening so we couldn't get a scorecard. It wasn't the biggest deal though because I was able to mark the scores on my phone.

Don't play on a Tuesday

Had a tee-off time of 11.15, immediately following a seniors comp. After 3 hours, we arrived at the 11th green. So, unfortunately, we walked off. We have played this course a few times before. It is a hidden gem, with some lovely holes and within some quiet, attractive countryside. It was a shame to walk off but a 5 hour round was not something we wanted to experience. I wish clubs made some effort to ensure that 4 hour rounds are the norm and have procedures in place to also ensure that the pace of play is acceptable to all.

Course in great condition

Booked through tee off times and staff friendly upon arrival. Played through by who I think were locals, pleasant and welcome compared to other courses! The course itself was in great nick and thoroughly enjoyed the round!

Slowest round ever

We tee ed off as a 2 ball shortly behind a four ball of older guys in a buggy,we waited patiently on first hole not too worried as we assumed at some point they would let us through.
How wrong we were they never acknowledged us at any stage and had several opportunity s to let us through but we were ignored even watching them searching for lost balls .
We waited an average of 5 mins to play each shot,we were freezing cold, and the whole course was stacked up behind us.
These old guys have no manners,no consideration and could learn so much from younger people with manners.
In a nutshell they ruined our day, ruined our golf and I would imagine the majority of the people on the course behind.
Will not be returning would rather set fire to clubs horrendous!!
