Excellent course but could do with more spaced out tee times
Really enjoyed my game at Mossock last week, we had a lot of rain leading upto the tee time but the course was in great shape and the greens best I've played on 4 a while. Only 1 or 2 negatives, the play was really slow and the 10min spacing between start was not observed as there was no starter observing this plus the discussion I heard from members of the car park was like a combat 18 meeting which I found really offensive but nothing that the club could do about that.
The course layout was superb with a wide variety of holes and a few quite long par 4s and 5s and some lovely par 3s especially the 11th 120yd from an elevated tee. Would have no qualms about playing again and probably will a few times this season
Fantastic Greens
Threw out the summer iv played a lot of different golf courses and with the good weather a lot of course have been scorched in the heat but here the greens are in fantastic condition with two shades of ruff on every green. Definitely worth a visit some of the best around..
Brillant course for winter golf
After months of rain this course is still in immaculate condition. Would recommend playing to anyone. Pace of play was a little slow but I can see why and it didnt take away from the enjoyment. It also helps that I played the best I have ever played at 17 over par!
Great challenge
Worst day of the year storms and floods but such a lovely course and had every type of hole.
Greens held upto the heavy rain.
Thanks
Good test
Course conditions good but greens could do with a bit of TLC. Putts role true but are slow. Appeared to be a fungus or infection on them that resulted in patches looking poor but that said they still played well. Plenty of wind to make sure to thought about the shot and shaped it accordingly.
Not as good as I was expecting
Heard good things about the course but greens were shabby, pitch marks all over the place, fairways needed trimming as grass far too long. Play was ridiculously slow and not a four ball in sight so was surprised. Didn't use additional facilities so can't comment on them. Overall would probably not play again as plenty of far better courses within 20minutes drive.
Poor value for money
Poor greens and especially poor fairways, really slow play.
the heron
great course and the weather good. would definitely recommend it. hsd to change location to mossack so most impressed how i was able to play mossack
A hidden gem
A cracking course which was in great condition and requires you to think carefully about pretty much every shot. Some very clever dogleg par 4's and some testing par 5's too. Mix of short and longer par 3's work well. Was scoring well until a card wrecker 8 on the long par 4 13th! Finished with 39 stableford points and a gross score of 79 playing off 10. Will definitely be back.
Good variety of holes
The course was in good condition.
It absolutely chucked it down during the round and I was soaked by the end but I continued. I think this shows there was enough to keep me going.
There is a good variety of holes.
The 18th is good with a stream running in front of the green.
The greens could of been better. A couple of putts veered off as they were on there way in.
I'll be back in summer to see if they are better.
I'm thinking of bringing my society as it has enough for all level of golfers.
Bad weather didn't stop play
At first we thought it should have been closed, the practice putting area was almost a pond. However despite the days of torrential rain and still raining when we started it was a good day. Yes it was bogged in places and flooded here and there but the greens were fine and most of the fairways. The rain went off and we had a great round which was a surprise given the poor weather.
Great food from a very friendly barmaid in a pleasant bar. Glad we persevered and didn't let the weather put us off
