Winter golfing
Played here on Saturday the 10th of Feb.
Very wet underfoot but to be expected considering all the rain, credit where credit is due the ground staff have done well to keep it playable.
Little rough round the edge greens abit fluffy but again it’s winter so didn’t expect much more. Course is playing a lot shorter than it would do in the summer but made aware of this as soon as you arrive 12/13 are closed totally.
Overall not bad for time of year. Course is a little samey up/down/up. I am sure it would certainly play quite well in the summer.
I’d say it the perfect place to play if your getting into golf and want to improve. It’s not bad but nothing really memorable stands out. Give it a go and see for yourself.
Great course, long walk
Overall, very good value for money, £23 for a Saturday afternoon. Course is up and down the hill, so definetly use a buggie or have an electric bag.
Fairways excellant, soft due to lots of rain, saying that was a lovely sunny day when I played.
Beautiful Views from the top of the hills on holes 11, 12, 13.
14th and 16th are stunning.
lots of strategic hazards, you need to plot your way round and not just smash it up.
will play again now I know the layout.
Need a buggy
It’s not a bad course but you need a buggy as it’s the hilliest course you’ve ever played.
In good condition but the lack of a buggy for us killed it as my playing partner nearly died
Welcoming course - a few repetitive holes though.
A very friendly welcome from the lady in the club shop. Easy check-in. Course in very good nick. Lots of similar holes though and a few hills - recommend a buggy if budget stretches to it. Overall, very good.
The course
We’ll present green very good be prepared for a good walk would recommend buggies if you don’t like hilly courses.
Good facilities well worth it great value.
Lovely course, excellent value.
Played here last Saturday for the first time. Great course, nice layout, not very long but makes up for that with small tricky greens and strategically placed hazards. Great value for money and some of the holes with the elevated tees are spectacular. Will definitely play here again in the near future. Very hilly so would recommend hiring a buggy.
Great day.
Cracking course, very scenic. Some of the holes from the elevated tees are spectacular. Really enjoyed it but would recommend hiring a buggy, very hilly. I’ll be back before too long.
Great local course
This course is in fantastic condition and on a good day has spectacular views.
A buggy is recommended for those with any knee complaints.
Will definitely return.
Good day
Played here for the first time, quiet course, possibly because of the strenuous nature of the course, 5 of the holes are uphill, but when you get up to the higher parts of the course there are glorious views to be seen. Delicious sandwich in the adjoining hotel bar after the game.
Very friendly welcome and explanation of the course when we arrived. The course generally is in relatively good condition for the time of year although the greens were a little below par. For me, there are too many very similar holes where you are playing uphill on one hole then back downhill on the next. Good that there is a Winter scorecard that reflects the current yardages.
