Good course
Good links course even in the winter after lots of recent rain.
Thurs 6th
I really liked this course and the ideal conditions.
Greens were fantastic and it's a clear course.
Just had some impatient players behind us who made us rush our round (I offered to let them through) but apart from that, I can't fault the course at all
Great day out
Really friendly welcome from the golf pro. Pro shop had plenty of the essentials you would need for your round. The course was in fantastic condition, and due to being a true links drained immediately after a few heavy downpours during the round.
The views of the Northumberland coast were superb. The course is relatively flat which was ideal for those who don't enjoy a hilly course.
Course in great nick
Played here maybe 10 times but the greens today were the best I've ever seen them. Surprising considering its March. Hats off to the Green keepers.
Greeted by a very friendly Pro. Course in excellent condition, we played for £13 which was a bargain. It was the first time we played the winter layout but I must say I actually preferred it. Big clubhouse. We will definitely return. Thanks!
bigin ok
course ok greens mint locsls awesome only cos im from embleton..ha.avoid pro talks about hinself so boring hs x
Course condition
The course was in excellent condition and the greens were spot on especially as most of the courses in the area were closed due to the amount of rain we've had.
Unfortunate
Unfortunate to be rained off on the 6th hole so returned to the club house where staff were fine but day ruined by bolchy old men telling us to remove our caps but no notices anywhere and then comments about it looking like a launderette because our wet coats were hanging on chairs!!!
Gem
Great links course. Nice challenge with the front 9 out to the north sea a treat. Greens very good. Only gripe is the dog walkers who frequently wander across some fairways who don't care it's a golf course.
Amazing course with a great pro!!
Played this course with my son today and we were made so welcome pro could not do enough for us
Course is challenging but me a 20 handicapper and son a scratch player both loved the layout challenge scenery and overall course a real gem with amazing contrasting scenery such great value we will be back !!
Good value, good location - no concerns from our point
Very friendly course. Good advice from Pro Shop prior to teeing off. Some challenging holes and greens.
Will go back.
Slowest game ever
Played here for the 1st time today. Staff are friendly enough and course is a bit quirky in places. We were in carpark unloading gear when the tail end of a woman's comp was teeing off. 20 mins later we teed off and caught them on the 3rd hole and were high handicappers. By the 8th hole we had 8 lads waiting for us to tee off. Talk about course constipation. The women even kicked off with us saying we were playing too quick and should wait 20mins and we were rushing them, I don't think they could rush on E. Total shambolic attitude to have and were they heck going to let anyone play through from the 9th. Well and truly spoiled everyone's day behind them. I even grew a beard over the course of the game. Avoid the course at all costs if they have a competition on.
A great course but challenging
My wife and I called here a couple of months ago for a sandwich en route to Berwick. I said I would like to play the course so I did. The Pro was very friendly and welcoming. The bar/ restaurant do not serve food on Mondays. I had travelled 2 hours so played with an empty stomach. Disappointing. It was great weather with only a little wind. Used to a parkland course I found the links type challenging but enjoyable. I would return but not on a Monday !
Worth a visit
Best greens so far this year i have played on lovely views some challenging holes worth every Penney
lovely friendly club with a great links course
We had heavy drizzle for most of the round but we still thoughly enjoyed our round. The course was in great condition with slick greens. The layout does need previous knowledge in places on the front nine especially 5 and 6 but most of the time the hole is there in front of you.
The 7th is a lovely hole with a long narrow green and the 12th a great par 3.
Would highly recommend course and club with friendly and helpful golf pro and members.
Great day
The booking was very easy to arrange.
The ladies in the kitchen could not have been more helpful or friendly and provided us with the traditional pre golf meal of bacon, egg and sausage buns.
This was ahead of the normal kitchen opening time which was greatly appreciated....thankyou
Excellent value
Really good condition excellent value and very good service at pro shop and bar
Avoid days when the seniors are playing!
I started with a coffee and a decent bacon sandwich, spoiled by having brown sauce from an HP bottle, only it wasn't HP sauce!!! Some cheap equivalent ..... very naughty ( kitchen staff ).
A very windy Thursday spent stuck behind several seniors 4 balls and no offer from them to be waved through.
A very picturesque course, a decent challenge with only 2 par 3s and 2 par 5s.
Greens were quite fast, fairways fairly well drained as you would expect on a links course, surprisingly the bunkers could do with a bit more sand in them.
Newbiggin by the Sea
A links course which takes wet weather very well. Course never closed.
Slow play on Thursdays because seniors have competition on this day.
After the first 3 holes the course becomes interesting. Greens good and generally fast.
Did not use clubhouse
Newbiggin Review
The. Course was in very good condition with fast greens.
The opening 3 holes are a little boring but after that the Links effect cpm s into play with blind tee shots and hidden greens.
A good experience overall
